Another simple question! 1st or 3rd person camera?

When I started i played 1st person for like a month or two. Now I only use it when traveling around on chocobo or getting screenshots.

I'll use first person while I'm zoning, JUST so I can run forward without fear of the camera being oriented strangely and sending me back to the zone I just came from.

I'll also use it when I'm bored and auto-running somewhere.

I got used to moving in 1st and fighting in 3rd back when the game came out and there was no chase camera setting (I had a lot of trouble keeping the camera from flipping out in cities and places with tight walls) and just sort of stuck with it.

Also, when climbing the mountain in 1st person you can press yourself into a wall and move forward at the same time very easily. 3rd person seems to make your toon spaz a bit when pressing against things and could make falling easier.

I never had issue climbing the hill in 3rd person, but it's fun not seeing where you're jumping in 1st person.

3rd person, switch to 1st when necessary/convenient.
The game is designed for 3rd person view, feels awkward to play in 1st person(just like 3rd person oblivion...there is the option, but it blows!).

Third person mostly, and first person in no aggro areas.

Use both!

It depends on situation, If you are just Travelling around... Stick with 3rd person view.. If your balancing yourself up some steep slope that u may fall down (Atto Chasm??), Use 1st Person.

If your a Bard singing songs for people.. 3rd Person is good to check if PT Members are in range..

If your a THF trying to line up SATA.. then go 1st Person.

It really all depends.

Although I use first person to get to AH and to exactly specific what F8 should target, and also when fleeing I find it fun. I switch a lot when needed but never like to stay in 1st.

I'll switch to 1st and immediately back to 3rd if I ever need to quickly change my field of view.

1st for sea (easier to look up/down for ufo's/sharks), lining a horde of mobs up on my shield, and looking up elvaan F butts

When I first started playing this game a long time ago I was in 1st person mode (since I played so many fps) but after a while I got used to 3rd person view and being lazy with a controller.
