    3.1 Rogues

    So what's your alternate spec?

    I don't think I'll be able to kick the habit of respeccing every time the spreadsheet says my new shinies say 'GO COMBAT' or 'GO MUTILATE' seeing as how I've already spent money on new enchants and glyphs, so I'm leaning towards a PvP build but I gotta be honest with you, I've never actually built a rogue for PvP and have only ever used my PvE spec for everything (I don't Arena).

    What are other mut/combat rogues tempted by when they think 'hey maybe my secondary spec doesn't have to be PvE?'

    plan on having my main spec for boss encounters and maybe second spec for trash and such, including tott/fok glyphs. I'm really not too sure what i'm going to do now!

    Since I do 100+ arena games a week and only raid 2nights +pugs, my main spec is pvp and my alt spec is pve. ALTHOUGH - I prob won't even pay for respec on rogue, will prob just keep him as pvp and use my druid for raiding.

    Lets talk about glyphs - PVE

    Most rogues are saying Mutilate+HFB+Rupture

    Mutilate and HFB are really obvious, but Rupture? The glyph only says that it makes rupture last 4seconds more, that doesn't say anything about increasing its damage, so it's just easier to keep up - same as SnD glyph, just makes it last longer - Does rupture glyph add more bleed damage? Cause if not, then neither glyph provide a dps gain, therefore it's personal preference to pick between both glyphs. However, you lose more dps is SnD drops then if rupture drops, the only point in rupture glyph is so HfB has that extra bleed incase noone else puts one up........ I'm thinking SnD glyph > Rupture glyph in the idea that, it's easier to keep SnD up in the rotation (one less worry) and if one of the 2 were to drop, better off as rupture.

    Unless rupture adds another tick of damage, then it's extra dps.

    Rupture glyph adds 2 ticks, it's a dps gain.

    yeah but according to glyph it's a 4second duration increase doesn't say how much each of those ticks does if any at all, that's why I was wondering.

    They are normal damage ticks.

    Since only Glyph of mutilate popped on AH and not HFB yet, I did a archavon with Mute+SnD+Rup since I still had those.

    The amount of extra energy I had was stupid, I could have been mutilating at 4cp still with that much extra. No need for SnD glyph at all with how many envenoms we are capable of spamming anyway.

    Mutilate glyph is trainer-learned. Find a friendly inscriber.
    HfB glyph is likely discovered.

    The ticks do the same damage as normal. It should be a dps gain in the sense that you're spending less GCD/CP/energy casting rupture over the course of the fight which you can than spend on other stuff, but I don't pve as rogue so idk.

    Awright mutilate rogues who still run 5-mans, pop quiz: What's the best way to open a cycle on a boss without a warrior or feral druid putting bleeds on the boss for you? I feel feeble opening with Garotte when I used to pop Ambush

    I used to just open with a mutilate to get SnD up as fast as possible so yeah, you may just want to ambush or mut then rupture right off the bat. Option 2 is just suck it up and garrote so you don't have to lose DPS on a shitty 2 or 3 CP rupture, and option 3 is make friends with a warrior and offer him services in exchange for him putting rend up at the beginning of every boss fight. Trash and stuff you're kind of on your own, but it's trash so lol (except Ulduar trash is actually difficult now, fucking score).

    On another note, I'm extremely, extremely pleased with combat DPS this patch. I'm pulling top 3 in the first three in Ulduar so far (save Flame Levi, was still DLing patch when guild downed him). And on Razorscale, I was first on all ~9ish of our attempts (and finally our kill) save for I think two of them, where our fury warrior was less than 100 DPS ahead of me. I hit 4.6k on that fight no problem, and for our few attempts on XT002 I was pulling near 4.9k.

    Trying to decide as combat (18/51/2) if I should drop glyph of rupture for glyph of killing spree. I've already replaced the SnD glyph with AR glyph and am liking the results. 3/5/5 was a bitch to keep up without SnD glyph so I had to change to 5/5/5.

    Switched to 18/51/2 myself and according to my spreadsheet I receive the most dps by having glyph of snd/sinister strike/killing spree. Now, where to find that glyph!

    If you can stealth to the boss, just open with Garrote.

    If you can't stealth to the boss, then just deal with the slight dps loss for the first 5 seconds. Get a rupture off or get SnD up and just deal.

    I never even bother using a stealth attack on any mob inside an instance/raid. Just try to stand behind the mob and 3or5snd/5r/5e, repeat, blowing cd's as they're up.
