Unsurprisingly, Ubisoft is targeting its new, multiplayer-enhanced Assassin's Creed game at the six million of us who bought Assassin's Creed 2. An Ubisoft rep told CVG that the new game will "take place with the same hero, which is Ezio, and will follow-up the story that took place in Assassin's Creed 2."

This, combined with the new multiplayer, makes us believe that the new game will be a spin-off and not Assassin's Creed 3 -- since, presumably, a full-on sequel would highlight a new assassin and a new time period. Oh, and if you were worried that you weren't going to be able to pay $60 for it, you can rest easy: CEO Yves Guillemot said that the game will be sold at a "full price point".

AC1 was really good as well but not as polished as AC2. There was much more sneaking around and dodging Templars in the first one and you are much more prone to get your ass kicked in AC1 if you choose to fight in the beginning and midway through lol.

As long as you keep it in context and realize that it was the original then you should be fine. Dont get me wrong, it was very fun but just a bit rough around the edges and crude when compared to AC2.

Yea, i'll keep in mind that isnt a perfect game at all lol.
But i actually loved the second one, and being the first at cheap prices in the UK amazon (my country actually blows to buy games, even platinum costs around 35€+, new ones 70€).
Basically, with my limited budget, i either get AC1 or AC2's DLC (not sure if they are gonna launch it to portugal), cuz i already pre-ordered FF13 lol.

Honestly, after having played AC2 I dont think I can ever play AC1 again. Its like playing an unfinished version of a good game. I'd just get the DLCs.

Edit: Though AC1 will probably provide you with longer content than a couple of DLCs I'm guessing if that is a factor.

^ About 6-7hrs in and this is my same opinion this is what the first one wanted to be, would be really hard to go back and play the first after playing the second.

Initially scrapped from the main game due to time constraints, Battle of Forli seems like an acceptable casualty in Ubisoft's war to complete Assassin's Creed 2. Considering the grandeur of Ezio's quest, it's easy to see why this man got left behind -- or woman, rather.

In a significant upgrade from her brief role as glorified gondola tutorial, Caterina Sforza assumes the role of leader and custodian of Forli, the drab, melancholy settlement that acted as a rest stop on the way to Venice in Assassin's Creed 2. Ezio's unacknowledged meddling with 15th-century history proves to be the biggest draw of this DLC subplot, even though most of his participation involves putting sharp things through soft spots.

Unfortunately, that's where Sequence 12 (one of two missing segments to be woven into the game's overall story) gets off to a rough start. One of your first tasks is to protect Sforza and tag-along Machiavelli from a screen-cluttering mess of enemies (it's not called Mild Scuffle of Forli, after all) that can easily obscure Ezio himself. If you didn't like the combat in the game, this part will almost certainly cut away at your enjoyment.

It isn't until after the fighting takes a break that a pressured rescue mission swoops in to save the day, along with some good ol' assassination. It's more Assassin's Creed 2, and while these missions don't stand out as some of the game's best, they do provide some worthwhile background (in lieu of any Achievements, apparently). Much like a movie DVD's offering of a deleted scene, it's something non-essential that eager fans will find of interest.

That being said, I'd recommend playing Battle of Forli alongside next month's Bonfire of the Vanities DLC. There appears to be an interesting story connecting the two, and the latter's presence will bolster the underwhelming, one-hour length of this first pack.

Battle of Forli will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this Thursday, January 28, for 320 MS points / $3.99.

Maybe now we'll understand why Ezio turns into such a pussy between sequences 11 and 14.

woo, free-flying leonardo's pezzo di merda, the dlc is awesome so far, just love the bombardment of soldiers, kinda makes the throwing sand at 4 soldiers and sweeping soldiers w/ long weapon achievement pretty easy.

*edit* @Kaisha, that won't stop pirates, trust me, you'll see PC players who download the game play this a week after release.

I'm expecting it to get cracked before street date actually. When have pirates ever left the consumers down in terms of getting their crack fixings?

Knowing Ubisoft's typical PC port jobs, the code for offline saving is probably still in the code itself.

Anyways, am I a bad person for not wanting this DLC due to lack of achievement/trophies?
