Holy shit I am guessing that is the new pilot's (Mari) Evangelion? God I hope someone subs this with a direct cam day motherfucking one.

HOLY SHIT, are they already fighting the U.N/SELEE near the end of that trailer? How is that even happening.. it looks like the EVA's were fighting against them.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Eva-00 wasn't going to get recolored blue and would remain yellow. Actually I'm trying to remember if it was still yellow during the sniper fight in 1.0... brb rewatching :E

In other trailer we can see this Eva "Yellow" Punching window like in the anime when this Eva want to kill Shinji's father behind the window during active test.
I'm pretty sure it is Eva 00.

How many parts are there to this rebuilt? And the first one already came out correct? Pretty sure I seen that, but wanted to make 100% sure

So is this a completely new story line?

You know...when you think about it, the biggest similarity between Xeno and Evangelion isn't the religious symbolism or the mecha, it's how many attempt it takes to tell the story correctly.

After the series ended, Anno was not completely satisfied due to issues of time, financial troubles, and network censorship. Thus, when the series was released on VHS and Laserdisc, each episode was remastered and cuts were reincorporated into episodes 21-26, with the first four being drastically enhanced and the final two being completely remade as the double-feature Death and Rebirth. However, again, due to time and budget constraints, the remastering and reanimating of episodes 21-24 was put on hold in favor of the movie.

(However, many suspect that the exclusion of narrative action was due largely to lack of funding and threats of cancellation from the network.)

I know he got depressed, but the end of the series was also butchered by the lack of money and time, just like Xenogears's 2nd disk, and Xenosaga.


Both Xeno and Evangelion are literal retelling of the jewish mysticism's mythology in a sci-fi context, and both series had their ending butchered for similar reasons.

This^ Eva is one of the greatest anime series because all of the outside influences from the director and how it shaped the ending.

The first movie had amazing animation, and a nice retelling that plays shinji as less of an asshole piece of shit and more like a sympathetic hero.

Looks like the second movie is gonna have a lot of divergence from the series if the preview from the first movie and this trailer is any indication. The preview mentioned a new eva, and kaworu appeared a lot sooner as well, so I'm pretty excited.

I can't believe I haven't heard about these rebuilds either. I tried to get into anime in highschool and never could. I watched Evangelion and just gave up on all other anime since I knew it was all down hill from there.
