Wired 360 xbox controller on laptop

how do i make this work bc i downloaded the driver and calibrated everything but NOTHING. REALLY GETTIN FRUSTRATED. any advice is welcome. plz help!

Have you set it up through Start > Programs > Playonline > Final Fantasy XI > Final Fantasy XI Config?

Click "Gamepad Settings (P)" on the opening window, then "Enable Gamepad" in the upper right. Once you do that you can configure buttons & whatnot.

I recently had the pleasure of setting one up.

The problem I had was the trigger buttons did not work with the default xbox drivers

Go Download the latest XBCD driver from here

XBCD - XBox Controller Driver Forum -> Latest 0.2.6 Version

then follow these instructions :

XBCD - XBox Controller Driver Forum -> FFXI - a solution ...

ignore this part of the first post if you download the latest file from first link.
igore -"* Download and install XBCD 1.7
ignore -* Download and install XBCD360 0.2.5, overwriting the files in drivers and inf
ignore -* Download and install USBView from the Redcl0ud site
ignore -* Identify the controller ID using USBview - mine was GID_045E&PID_028E
ignore -* Edit the inf file to add this controller"
do the rest.

I've followed these two posts and am happily using the Xbox Wired controller.

still not workin for me, i literally cant move in the game. only thing i didnt do was, "Run XBCD setup as Admin, switch to windows tab and select:
.. o Z - Off
.. o Rx - On
.. o Ry - On
.. o Rz - Off
.. o Slider - Off
.. o Buttons - 12
* Save the config and exit after applying"

Im really gettin pissed off and bout to throw this laptop out the window. Please someone help me!!!!!
