Post Your Vorpal Blade Build

Alright, so I'm a BLU and just wondering what everyone's Vorpal builds are like. I'm also wondering if just a STR/Att/Acc build or a Crit build is best. Crit build takes a lot of work (and gil), and just wondering if it's worth losing a bunch of added STR/Att over (screen caps/parse logs/comparisons/testing would be great).

That build has about a 78% accuracy on Greater Colibri without acc food, so keep that in mind. It would be 80% with Denali feet, and 82% with Perdu.

Just saying, it really isn't if you understand the order in ffxiah places items. But whatever, constructive advice is to get rid of the Alkys as soon as possible, Enkidus fill this spot perfectly and aren't hard to obtain. Other than Hanger, gorget, orc head and cuchu mantle, it's pretty good. Maybe some homam if you're really hurting on acc.

Well I have a Soil Gorget, but Fortitude is far better. I suppose if I was going for a full on critical hit build, I would go for a gorget though (or beads).

fortitude is not FAR better

10 acc every hit on vorpal is crucial, especially you said you arent eating accurancy food on birds (Crab sushi)

30 damage boost + 10 acc for all hits VS 7 attack + 6.something accurancy

the latter loses

I saw testing once that proved that the damage+ only affects the first hit of a WS. So '30 damage' added in total and 10 acc (most claim it's only 7 acc) on all hits. >.>

For now, the difference is I'm using Enkidu's Cap + Assault Jerkin instead of Gnadbhod's Helm + Enkidu's Harness.

Alternatively, I may consider switch to Denali Gamashes instead of Rutter Sabatons.

My setup for Vorpal Blade is as follows:


Weaopn: Perdu Hanger/ Koggelmander
Ammo: Smart Grenade
Head: Voyager Sallet
Neck: Thunder Gorget
Ears: Brutal Earring/ Minuet Earring
Body: Denali Jacket
Hands: Enkidu Mittens
Rings: Flame Ring x2
Back: Forager's Mantle
Waist: Warwolf Belt
Legs: Enkidu Leggings
Feet: Denali Gamashes


Obviously there's alot of room fro improvement, but my BLu is still kind of fresh off the mold, only been 75 for a month. But I think i have a decent start.

Improvements I could see for the future might include Orc head from SCNM, Enkidu's Harness, Tiphia Sting(once I stop being cheap) <.< and probably a couple of others too.

Suppanomimi would be an upgrade too, only reason I don't use one is because I have Abyssal Earring for DRK.

yes. 30 damage is first hit only

and no. all hits are +10 acc not 7.

and gorget is >>>>>>>>>>>> torque for most WS, unless your a thf or drg with love torque.

that 30 damage boost on the first 1hit and 10 acc per hit on gorget will always outweigh the 7 att and lack of 3-4 acc on torque. even justice torque is debatable with its 5 str.....and yet it is not an one sided affair. fort torque is 5 vit to even able to start a debate...............

even then, no unless you know +5 dex gonna push crit rate up on the mob otherwise gorget better for drg.

I use this for now, waiting for relic legs to drop, also use Morrigan's Robe instead of Homam when I feel for it.

Well, atm it's either that, or AF2 Body. And most of the time I'm either using sushi, or solo'ing something so low level I'm capped accuracy anyway.

So it's either +10 Accuracy or +9 Attack.

I figure Denali Jacket would probably be better for now.

Totally I never play BLU so didn't bother much with it customizing WSs / Spells etc.

btw new ACP augmented earrings from Qu' Arena fight would probably be ideal ear if you can get a +2STR +3~5attk one.
