New Long Range, Smart Sniper Rifle

Reading that article, it doesn't seem the gun is enhancing the distance, but rather the fact that the gun can shoot a smart bullet. A bullet that can actually alter it's direction mid-flight to better follow a target. I mean yea, people can shoot 1.5+ miles with a lot of guns now, but how many of those guns can shoot a bullet that will actually turn mid-flight and follow a moving target?

This gun would take the whole "shoot straighter" bit out of sniping and allow you to not only stay further away, but increase your accuracy while being further away as well. The gun isn't special for it's distance, it's special cause it's smarter.

Actually Stalingrad was Zaitsev but yes, Simo was essentially the greatest sniper in the history of modern warfare in terms of kills.

Kills are great and all, but I feel that has much to do with opportunity and circumstance (although killing more than half a thousand people one shot at a time is crazy).

Zaitsev Vasily Zaytsev - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia had so many kills in such a short period of time during the battle of Stalingrad, including so many enemy snipers who were expressly out to kill him, that I feel like he has to get the nod.

Although...Simo did that shit with fucking iron sights, which is immensely harder core.
