Here's a good one: I just got an Alloy Torque (AUG) from my AMK Red Coral Key. The stats are Macc+2 and Wind Skill+4. It also has hMP+1.

If 1 skill = 1 macc then clearly Wind Torque is superior. However, what if BRDs first average their Wind and Singing together to get a sort of "Musical Skill" and then 1 "musical skill" = 1 macc? In that case:

Wind Torque = 3.5 macc
Alloy Torque = 2 + 2 = 4 macc
Piper's Torque = 2.5 + whatever 5 CHR gives

BRD wind/singing relationship on top of the already difficult-to-test macc scenarios is so freaking confusing.

Victory March has tiers occurring at both even and odd values of Combined Skill, it's unlikely that they are averaged for debuffs but not buffs

Perhaps not averaged, but something special is going on. The game doesn't simply add them together - BRDs would have over 500 macc from skill alone compared to the 320 or 330 a BLM might have.
