kk last question. I've narrowed it down to non stop (140 bucks) vs 1 stop (120 bucks) and decided to go with non stop.

Only 2 that had nonstop are delta and northwest. Which should I travel with?

I would recommend AirTran, I fly with them multiple times a year along the East Coast, they are always on time or early, never fuck up with luggage, and the customer services is pretty good. Also if you book your tickets about three weeks ahead of time you can usually get round trip, with tax, fees, etc for around $200~$210

Didn't NW Airlines merge into Delta exactly a year ago on this date? :<

Edit: and yes, wise man for choosing non-stop. I'd do the same for less than a hundred bucks difference. I have flown with Delta pre-merger and liked it.

Oh yeah, American Airlines is shit in my experience... flight from Chicago->Paris got delayed nearly 2 hours on the runway, missed my connection, had to make them get me another flight, then that airline told me AA fucked up the paperwork and I almost missed a second flight because they printed me a boarding pass but my eticket wasn't entered into the system.

fffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccccckkkkkkkkk kking sucked. Was all budget/redeye too and I hadn't slept in 36+ hrs.

Sorry to hear. I've flown with AA (domestic + international) in the past and it has always been smooth ><. Continental is all right, too.

just steer clear of US airways. they charged me $25 to check my bag, which they then lost and didn't deliver to me for three or four days. oh and also they kicked me off of my connecting flight due to overbooking, despite having bought my tickets like 3 weeks in advance!

My family has stayed away from US Airways like the plague, and mainly due to their shitty service/operation. I have frequently seen "DELAYED/CANCELLED" on them at a bunch of airports every year so yeah <_<

Apparently so. They were just listed as 2 diff airlines but the departure date/time and arrival were the same.

I always just use orbitz, never seem to get a horrendous price there, and it's not like I'm being crammed in some bullshit seat or get bumped off an overbooking either.

kayak and subscribe to airlines newsletters. They will send you emails about specials that are only valid for a certain period of time (usually 4hrs).. is good if you know you going to fly for a vacation. Tend to get sweet deals (like 40%~50% average)

No red eye, or crappy flights.

southwest always has the cheapest fares and they don't have retarded fees like most airlines

^this. I booked a trip to Fort Lauderdale a couple of years back, used all of those discount sites mentioned above, and still found the lowest price on southwest.com. Same thing when I went to Anaheim last year.

I might give kayak.com a try next time though.

But yeah, book way in advance and you should be fine.
