WoW "bleeding through" to other screens in windowed mode

Didn't know whether I should put this on the WoW boards or tech, but I think it's more of a technical problem. Please move it if necessary. XD

I play WoW on two different computers. My home one I play full screen, so I haven't noticed if this is a common issue or not.

My work computer though, I need to switch screens often because I need to use checkout software when someone comes up. I play it in windowed mode on that one.

The problem I have is that, and I can't think of a better way to describe it, the game "bleeds through" to other screens when I swap windows sometimes. It's always done it, but since 3.1 hit, it's been a lot worse, to the point that it's actually interfering with things.

    Here's a picture of what I mean:

It's been worse than that before. Usually I can just keep working as normal when it brings that up, but it's irritating when someone else needs to get on my computer to use my checkout software.

Anyone know if there's any setting I can tweak to make it stop doing that? I know this computer wasn't built as a gaming rig, but it does play the game alright other than that.

FFXI (Also on this computer) windowed mode doesn't do that, so I'm not sure what it could be.

Just a guess, but try disabling/removing all of your UI mods for WoW and re-enabling them one at a time? Could be something wonky in the Lua scripting of one of them.

I'll have to try disabling my add-ons and seeing what happens.

The memory leaks comment interests me though. Anything I can do to fix those?

Usually when I get them on-screen they stick around until I reboot. It'll be something stupid though, like a mouse hover box or a right-click menu menu box. Never got anything as extreme as you have there though.. it probably will disappear if you unload an add-on or end process something in Task Manager.

I don't have to reboot to make them go away, typically changing to multiple screens works for me.

Will have to see what all processes I have running when I play it at work next.

I've had something like this happen, just in reverse and different game. Bleeding into FFXI. If I hover over a link in Firefox (so you get the little pop-up text describing what it is) then alt-tab to FFXI, the box with that hovertext stays visible. The only way I can get it to go away is switch windows back and forth lots.

Edit: Heh, we were posting at the same time with the same solution.
