Is there any real reason you should merit VIT?

Humor me please on this.

I was exping SAM with a WAR who was also a 75 PLD and he went on to explain he merited VIT to 5/5 and also conculded that it would help his WAR for Steel Cyclone.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but meriting VIT should be the last fucking thing you should consider meriting to cap or am I missing something?

I always felt if you should merit anything to cap it would be STR, INT if you're a career BLM or MND if you're a career WHM but VIT?

Help me make some sense out of this.

That's what I pretty much thought. He then challanged me to merit my WAR 75 vs his and see who has a better DPS. I have no idea what gear he has but seeing as he was still using AF feet at 70 with a Hauberk, Emp Hairpin and no idea what else, I don't think I'll have a hard time killing him.

Maybe he's got some major Epeen gear at 75 and I don't know?

I mean really, this is some Deuteronomy shit, where everyone knows but sometimes it just has to be said. Don't try and make babies with your mom, don't merit VIT, also don't eat owls.

Been playing since 3 months after NA launch and still only have 1 level 75 (BRD) so I'll max out CHR when I accumulate the merits...which will be years from now...
