Catastrophe WS Build?

I'm working on my Apocalypse and recently got my Bec de Faucon complete and was going to test it out next dynamis. Looking at the mods though, I'm kinda confused as to what to gear for? I mean it has no STR mod, and just an fSTR value to affect it. Does that mean it would be more beneficial to use crap like Abyss Gauntlets?

Currently on DRK for single hits I use:

I was just going to use that for Catastrophe, that's my SH build, but now looking at the mods, would it be beneficial to put on some INT? Why couldn't it just have a STR mod?

As far as I understand it, though STR is not a mod, it does effectively act as ~30% modifier because of how fSTR functions.

So just focus on STR and be happy.

25% mod. Catastrophe has a 40% AGI mod? Then 1 AGI > 1 STR. Same for INT.

I've been looking to improve my setup also, the differences I have is Assault earring (no abyssal), Hecatomb Cap, Chs. Gauntlets +1, Onyx Cuisses, Rajas Ring, Potent belt, and I have my sea gorget. I personally go for the acc pieces: hands, waist, ear; because I miss more time than I'd like using warwolf/alky if I'm using coeurl subs, havent really tried pizza much.

I'd say INT and AGI have roughly equal value to STR, if not slightly better (due to minimal +atk bonus from stacking STR)

the only thing that's going to make cata respectable is dbl attacking so Full ares and Gorget is the way to go

As you can see, he pretty much favors Attack over all other stats. I don't know how well it worked relative to other builds that focused more on modifiers, but I do know that he was a pretty kickass Apoc DRK.

catastrophe rely heavily on attack

yea STR helps if you have items with chunks of STR like hecas

but tbh, i find entire full ares set good for catastrophe and is working towards it......the DA definately helps and full ares got real nice str, DA and attack

side note: DA on ws is always 1.0 from what i know....so yea, if a DA proc on catastrophe, you will only notice like 30% damage boost because catastrophe is a 3.0 WS, unlike rampage/jin/guillotine.......but hell, 200-300 damage is still good

for people who think lolfullares for WS, yep i agree, but catastrophe is a different league...you wont know until u have/tried it ON CATASTROPHE (so yea you have to own it and test before you post)

i remember someone telling me abt full ares att and DA is better than regular heca/adaberk/ares leg WS set, i doubted him that time.........but i do have to agree with him now

I'm not sure he was entirely decided on that (10-11 Atk and 1-2 base damage vs. .1 fTP), and he completed his Ares set within a week of the Salvage bannings (Ares hands was last) so I'm pretty sure he never got a chance to test with it.

One more question then, a couple months ago, about when the mythics were first being tested by the different sites, I read that Catastrophe had its duration ninja nerfed down to 20 seconds from 30, meaning that you had to spam catastrophe constantly to keep it up instead of alternating Catastrophe and Guillotine, is this just a sack of shit or is true or fixed or whatever?

Yes the aftermath of relic WS at 100% tp now last 20 seconds.

but i guess people have tested, pre patch, before editing wiki

so i guess it was nerfed when icon came along
