After 1 month of merit pts parsed i belive i have found last best equip and food combination for the different situations but now with last update i have new doubts for my equip... in particualr with Champion's Galea....
do you belive Champion's Galea can be better of hecatomb cap if with 2 of theese arguments?
STR+4 WS Acc+15
DEX+4 Crit Hit Damage +2%
AGI+4 WS damage +2%
have you already tried any of theese combinations?
also i tought can be a nice combination make it with
STR+2 "Haste"+5 and lol "Snapshot" +2%
for replace Ace's Helm and Askar Zukketto
anyways for both cases i have gungnir so i have accuracy +20
else i can make it for pld with fastcast+5 to don't wast that helm...
anothe doubt is on Rose Strap it's better then pole grip? some one tried it? i don't have lot of allied note so don't want wast them ; ;
Hectomb Cap or hecatomb Cap +1 are the best WS piece for DRG, bar none, imo the Champion's galea with STR +4 WS ACC +15 and ACC +10 ATK +5 is best to get for melee jobs that can equip it, mainly because +25 ACC for a WS for 1 slot is awesome and allows you to shit gear elsewhere where you would otherwhise need ACC, but it's situation as is everything, plus Gungnir has +20 ACC, so I doubt hitting things with 3/4 - 4/4 DB hits is really an issue.
and as for the Meripo talk, I personally like to /WAR in meripo's over /SAM, reason being is that the extra haste doesn't really help TOO much, i'd rather have the extra 10% DA for jumps, WS, regular melee hits etc, and Berserk/Warcry is always nice, even if it's just for e-peen numbers (though I really shouldn't talk my gear isn't amazing by any means).
and also for Starr, I noticed in your WS gear list for hands you don't mention Alky bracers, are they just not good for drakesbane in general because of the -DEX? I have both Heca hands and Alky gloves but i'd like someones opinion on this, just seems to me the extra STR helps more on Drakesbane than the -DEX hinders it.
Meripo is the situation where Haste would help the most arguably, since haste values and accuracy values will both be very high, as will attack etc.
And yeah, don't sacrifice DEX on Drakesbane. Criticals are beautiful.
I guess I am just old school. but I love /war. I throw on relic body and give my little buddy double attack and we kill stuffs.
Yea /sam is rocking and /blu destroys on soloing.
When merits came out I had only drg and whm at 75 so I split up all my merits between them and I have 8 mp merits. I do a lot of stuff solo screing off as /pld. 2nd highest str mod for a sub and highest vit for jumps. I only use this for screwing around soloing, farming, campaign, besieged, little nm for missions/quests to help newbies. For anything end game I use /war.

Someone said deep breathing to 5 was better and I agree with them. I took angon to 3 so it still has a decent timer to it.
And like the man said jump and high jump to 5 are the best for dmg in cat 1 for sure. with call down to 20 no need to crank spirit link.
There is a huge debate between the torques vs. the gorgets. from what I under stand the gorgets win, EXCEPT with the H2H one because that raises your base dmg per swing. I want the h2h one and the polearm one (also want the 5 int one for blm but meh)
