I had the same error yesterday. I just got the of version and downloaded pol and when It prompts me to update pol it loads than shows that 1160 error. I live in Georgia.

I searched thru the problem, but I don't see the solution.

- I can access internet, but not any SE related website, their Official Forum, Playonline.com
- POL 1160 from my Playonline Viewver after I had a few dc'd last night.

I don't see people can't login, since no post. It should just be me then...
If anyone can help me on this, it's much appreciated!

1160 is the error i get when trying to connect to POL or any SE login website (forum, linkshell community) from South Korea without my VPN. It means your IP address is blocked by either your ISP or SE, or both, from accessing those sites. This thread is originally from the time that SE implemented the region block on all South Korean IP adresses, as well as those in China and elsewhere, and it's likely there was a mistake that caused some people in the US to get blocked as well. Not sure what would cause the issue for you know though, where are you located?

I got the same problem: I can visit every website/log onto different game servers normally (I can even visit playonline.com etc), but trying to log in on the PlayOnline Viewer gives me Error code 1160.

I'm originally from the Netherlands, but took a break from FFXI for about 5 months, since I was moving to Japan. Now I am in Japan, and got a internet connection at my apartment. Everything seems to work, except for FFXI...
