POL Accounts randomly deleted >.> Should I worry?

Okay some background, I logged into my mule account earlier to do some things on her before I logged into my main. No problems at all. I then logged into my ex-husband's account to borrow some things from it, was dual boxing, briefly, which I do from time to time. Sent the stuff I needed, logged him out. No problems there.

I went to log in my main account, clicked the same version of POL(Windower) I always do, and it asks me to update POL. I do that, and it restarts, and then it welcomes me to POL like I'd never been there before, and doesn't show the regular screen with my accounts on it, instead asks me to add members.

I asked in my linkshell if anyone else had that happen to them, no one else did. So what the fuck? Random POL fail error? I re-added all four accounts but that was random and annoying. Wondering if there's a problem now, even though everything seems to be running fine.

Should I freak out? Or is this normal?

Probably just a file corrupted randomly. I wouldn't worry too much about it if the system is otherwise clean.

I always do /shutdown, never had a problem until today.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, as said it's probably just a corrupt file. You may want to run a virus scan to be safe though.

I'd look in Event Viewer and see if there's any HDD errors or POL.exe crashes listed in it.

Well the game crashes every time I /shutdown, that's a windower error though as far as I know, not something I'm worried about and it's not new.

That may cause corrupted files, if you exit out of PoL by just cancelling out it can delete files, it's done it to me a few times before.

Iv been getting the pol crash window error for several months now and i use /shutdown everytime but iv never lost any data and what not so far. Iv just figured its the windower .

It happens to me once in a while. Nothing to be concerned about, it has to do with files being locked and you not exiting correctly.

As previously mentioned, it's not something to be concerned with. Just re-input your data and don't worry about it.

It's happened to me many times before, but I've used the same FFXI install across numerous computers and re-formats (just adding in the registry/DLL information every time), so shit happens. It's nothing to be worried about.

Doesn't that have to do with modified UXTheme.dll or something related to Windows themes? Mines been having the same issue but I've just been to lazy to fix it.

I believe its the plugins. If you unload them all you shouldn't crash when shutting down. I think it's being fixed in the next version (hopefully?)

did you update with another POL open and character in game? ive had a install corrupted by updating with FFXI open and opening another which required an update.

There was actually no update so to speak. It said there was, and when I hit update, it did nothing (because there was nothing to update) and restarted POL, then told me about the adding members and stuff.

I dunno if it is because I play on Vista but my game still crashes, well, more like freezes when I use the unload all command.

just try to re-enter the info and if its still messed up.. then freak out

and i really hope they fix the windower crash thing, it keeps the gamma change i have set on windower after i /shutdown so my desktop gets kinda bright...
I'll try the unload all plugins on /shutdown later hopefully it works
