gj missing my point
Ty, I don't think it makes you choose. I've done quests for both sides and so far I'm on the okay side of each. I would be liked or higher but I keep stealing every chance I get.
I don't know, considering the size of the game and the incalculable amount of variables, I can't find myself complaining about glitches. The expectation is rather extreme I'd say, but yeah it does suck quite a bit. It's a bummer that's happening Atreides, though a close friend of mine has abut 14hrs logged on the X-Box version and hasn't had any issues![]()
im about to clear my cache and try again, so we'll see.
no luck
how the fuck did this game even make it past QA
I wonder if it's a hardware issue? Albeit I don't know too much about these sorts of mechanics, but I don't understand how one person could be without glitches while the other is flooded by them
Also, Blue HUD onry
im going to try deleting it from my hard drive and reinstalling, then re-clearing the cache but after 2 hours spent trying I'm not holding out much hope.
After I cleared the cache the first time I was able to repair 3 pieces of armor and then when I paused it froze on the pause screen![]()
Aside from the game-breaking save bug associated with Come Fly With Me, I haven't really encountered anything completely devastating in New Vegas, technical wise.
There's obvious bugs and such that will be fixed and patched as time goes on (like modding the Weathered 10mm Pistol and getting the "Exclamation Mark" mesh, character models going haywire, or the infinite Exp/Cap glitches), but it's become a natural thing with most games and being a "first waver." There's only so many people to cover quality assurance testing; a number that can't even come close to doing what the community as a whole can just by playing, which is why some of these problems aren't found until a game is released.
That aside, lack of Dogmeat makes me very sad.![]()
if this wasn't something obsidian was infamous for I would agree with you
A lot of people are having the same couple of glitches, including the repair glitch, which makes me wonder just how much testing got done at all. These are not minor issues, although minor issues abound. These are huge game breaking bugs that make the game unplayable, far worse than most people have encountered in Oblivion and Fallout 3.
I am not really sure why this keeps happening to Obsidian. They are either the unluckiest game development studio in the world, or grossly incompetent. I came into this game willing to overlook all their past mistakes for the sake of a fun fallout experience and all I've gotten in return is a worthless coaster and about an hour of gameplay.
FO3 was like that for me, I loved what bit of it I did actually get to play but ugh.
Maybe I'll try FO3 again sometime since I'm actually on a different PC now. Wary about New Vegas because of what I've been hearing. I want to wait for a few patches before I bother with it.
Well, the game's only two days old. I'd say give it until the first patch to pass judgment. Supposedly one's already been released for PC/PS3, so it just has to clear Microsoft's arduous and tedious checklist and then it'll be public... hopefully.
That aside, have you tried seeing if it's not the game coding itself, but maybe your disc or 360 that's causing the problem? Maybe test a different copy or on a friend's Xbox if you have those resources available?
I doubt it's necessarily his 360... the issues he's spoken of are ones that a friend of mine on MSN claims to also be experiencing. Not sure was causes it but I don't think it's the console itself.
re-cleared cache, deleted and re-installed to hard drive, then tried to repair armor and it worked! Then I went to pause and save it again and CRASHHHHHHHH
Well okay, I just got bad Legion fame it seems cuz I picked up Boone as a companion who likes shooting Legionaires, after that happened I just said fuck it and helped NCR retake a town from them. Hopefully I can get back in their good graces later so I can stab a side in the back at my own leisure ^_^
I've only had it crash a few times during loading screens. I've got a few other friends who've played and only run into a few similar issues, so I guess it just varies by person.
All bugs aside, pretend they aren't there; how good is the game?
PC users, if you are still experiencing some stuttering or slowdown issues after the d3d9.dll file trick, these settings are very useful:
Fallout.ini can be found in My Documents > My Games > FalloutNV
Also, if you are having microstutters and want smoother gameplay find iFPSclamp in the fallout.ini and change it from 0 to 60 (or whatever you want), currently running on Ultra settings and its running very nicely.Increase FPS on multicore systems:
In fallout.ini
Find the line: bUseThreadedAI=0
change it to: bUseThreadedAI=1
Add another line after it and insert: iNumHWThreads=2 (or 4 for quad)
Remove Mouse Acceration:
In falloutprefs.ini add this under [controls]:
fForegroundMouseAccelBase=0
fForegroundMouseAccelTop=0
fForegroundMouseBase=0
Change the Field of View:
In fallout.ini
Ctrl+F "fov" and change that shit to 90.
EDIT: Fallout.ini is set to read only, open properties, uncheck read only, then edit it. After you've finished editting it, set it back to read only.
