well, after restarting my game it seems that everything is stable for now. I've only now just gotten back to Primm, which is where I started freezing, so I'm being extra cautious but I am pretty excited I might actually get to play it now lol

There a way to get the (two?) patches if you've pirated the game? I'm sure I could find them on torrent sites if I used better search criteria. I haven't run into any problems yet but I'd like to be sure.
They're out there. Don't install update 2 if you use a custom fallout.ini to use iFPSClamp, FOV and Multicore edits because for some reason it doesn't run with it. I had to uninstall and reinstall the game and only used the first update, not sure why it does that but it seems to be happening to lots of others.
PC mod to get a perk every level for people that were complaining about it: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloa...e.php?id=34707
Do you have a list of values for the new perks? Or are you just adding the old perks from Fallout 3?
Wikia has a list

They must have just put that up recently, I remember checking and it was blank and linked to the Fallout 3 perks. Thanks.
After playing some more I'm pretty bummed out with the map. I know before in an interview they said the map would be comparable to Fallout 3, but it's way smaller. I have a good deal of locations discovered across the entire map and I'm not too far into the story (just got to the strip), whereas in Fallout 3 story areas were a very small fraction of the areas. And most of the discovered areas are probably shops or gates, since half the shops get their own marker. Also, I have found hardly any dungeons, just a few vaults and the REPCONN test site and that's it.
Yeah I thought they had said there would be more dungeons, I haven't found shit beyond what you've mentioned. It's hard for me to judge after 50hrs (compared to the 500 I had on Fallout 3), but if I had to make an assessment, I'd say Fallout 3 had a "better" world but New Vegas offers an improved leveling/stat-acquisition system (implants vs. bobbleheads, arguably, and stat bonus book changes (from 1 to 3).
I just started the "perfect" melee/unarmed character. After implants, I have:
10 strength
6 perception
8 endurance (one point from intense training)
1 charisma
1 intelligence
10 agility
10 luck
Traits:
-3% crit but 15% repair loss
-Wild Wastelands
4/4 skill books:
Lockpick
Melee
Sneak
Survival
Unarmed
Currently working on science (3/4) and medicine (1/4), though I'll surely attempt Barter, Repair, and Speech after I get a few levels under my belt.
Anyone figure out how to get the White Glove dress for Veronica?
So my ED-E appears to have disappeared. I used the player.moveto command to get to him and he appears to be invisible. Wtf D:
Edit: Nvm I did some setstage codes and moveto and finally found him. Fucker better stick around this time.
If you could PM me exact steps to reproduce this crash I can run it on a devkit and see what's happening. I might be able to load your save if you have that as well.
And I assure you nothing is "wrong with Obsidian". The only problem is that people have a negative expectation and when they find a bug they say "well that's what I expected!" where as when some other big named RPG companies who are known for having rabid fanboys, people will look at it entirely differently and forgiving.
It's like when your computer blue screens on windows and you have to take a picture and lolmicrosoft to your friends, but when OSX kernel panics, you quietly reboot and continue posting on iheartapple.com.
But seriously, PM me a save and 100% steps.
Also wondering, did they fix energy weapons in this game so that ash/goo piles disappear? I know that created some problems in Fallout 3 so I'm paranoid about using my plasma rifle.
Ash/goo piles wouldn't disappear, so if you used energy weapons as your main weapon thrroughout the game it would cause incredibly bloated save files (30mb+ per file). In some areas if there were enough piles there would be a myriad of bugs, like looting being considered pick pocketing and frame rate drops.
If I knew how I got into that situation I wouldn't have done it in the first place. I am not the only person having the problem with repairing the game causing bugs on 360. I deleted my save already so I can't send it to you, but I appreciate the offer.
Fallout New Vegas is a good game that has game breaking (yes, they are that bad) bugs and crashes, far more than Fallout 3 had. These are well documented and I find it extremely hard to believe you guys didn't know about them, because the alternative is a level of incompetence that is really staggering.
I really shouldn't be surprised that you've taken to blaming players and reviewers for their issues with the game yet again, but as far as I'm concerned YOU are a perfect example of everything that's wrong with obsidian. This is now 4 games in a row full of bugs and crashes, and yet you guys still have your heads in the sand crying about being the victims of reviewer bias and player expectation. It's bullshit.
I came into Fallout New Vegas with no bias whatsoever (otherwise I wouldn't have bought it day 1) and I was let down yet again, and I don't think it's unreasonable to want to play a game without having to restart every 5 minutes or be afraid your saves are going to be corrupted. Stop passing the buck.
Told Status: FUCKING TOLD
It is obviously your fault your game is crashing, I mean werent you there to focus test it? For shame, Atredies, for shame.
