Was wondering, would testing in balista/brenner be accurate? Could test any situation there without losing too many exp...

the 2hour offers a tons of artificials situations it'd take you hours to test in vanadiel. Mainly thinking of WAR for critical and MNK for tons of hit in 1 cast (could also front a Kraken).

In case anyone care, PLD with Iron Will at 5 merits gets a 95% spell interruption down and the effect is passed onto those that in AoE range. We have "tested" it on Sky gods and it works.

This would make recast down be at 37% with haste and double march. I'm not a Nin though so would it be worth it for an ichi macro?

Pld can only hit 55% or 65% (If they use Muse Tariqah and I am unsure if the switch would be worth it because if I recall its a size 2 shield) or 63% / 73% with merits. However a Pld can also get 22% more if they use the latent earring bringing the max up to 77% / 87% or 85 / 95% with the shield but considering the loss of haste and shield skill it seems mostly impractical for a Pld to try.
We know RDM, WHM, SCH, and BLM can hit 100% -interrupt with the right gear. So, looking at some other jobs with less available equipment...

If Aquaveil is indeed 20% per Pchan's testing (I'm still unsure if +Enhancing or stats can boost this higher or not), a SCH/whm or SCH/rdm using Accession should be able to provide a properly equipped NIN or PLD/nin with 100% interrupt protection (excluding the usual non-damage interrupt moves), although at the cost of quite a few gear slots.

I'm wondering if this could be used in some way for high-intensity tanking situations (with or without combination of Mambo effects). How often does high-intensity blink tanking fail because of damage-based recast interruption, as opposed to an interrupting special ability, shadow-penetrating damage type, or AoE?

BLU also gets enough usable interrupt gear as well to put it at or over 100% with Aquaveil. With /nin it should be practical to even keep a DD weapon equipped in one hand and still hit 100%. I'm not that familiar with the mechanics of BLU tanking, but would there be any applications for being able to constantly overlap Cocoon recasts without interruption?

I believe someone earlier said "in before BRD roll" but I'll go ahead and say it anyway. If there might be an application for BLU to spam Cocoon and other defensive moves (Stoneskin) with complete disregard to spell interruption, a COR with Choral Roll and a SCH/WHM with Aquaveil could provide enough interrupt down to let the BLU wear some halfway-decent gear, perhaps.

one variable we may need to control is if any stats directly affect interrupt rate. while i would consider it somewhat unlikely, it's not possible to rule out that mnd, vit, int, agi, or even chr could have an effect on your interruption rate. i would imagine we could test this extremely easily by doing a comparison w/ the same set of gear and consuming a nashmau stew ( Nashmau Stew - FFXIclopedia - a Wikia Gaming wiki ) after establishing a control data set.

    That's something I'm still a little fuzzy about ._.

When I test next time, should I do more of the hit-once-during-Ichi stuff? Like I was doing on crabs to boring infinity? Or should I do like some (Gergall?) suggested, and like pchan did -- back to my chigoes for hit-lotsa-times to follow 100% downward?

What makes more sense... I would love to do both, but I dunno if I have that much patience, so which is more valuable at this point?

Chigoes make sense only if you want to test "capping" "not capping" spell interruptions. But I guess if you want to test spell interruption on , say, stoneskin you could use them too. Start form -50% with aquaveil and do a sequence of 10 stoneskin and stop once you get an interrupt. The difficulty comes if you went 0/20 ? It's hard to tell if you are capped or not, but you know you are close to.

Let's say you get interrupts up to -70, since quavaeil is -20 then 256 enhancing would give -10 ?

I would really like to see what happens if you get your spell interrupt gear to about 95-98% and don't cast aquaveil, and then let mobs wail on you while you try to cast spells (try both ninjitsu (low skill) and white magic (high skill))

If there is any sort of "base rate" that provides a few % points of spell interrupt down, it will show up during this test and prevent you from being interrupted at all.

If you get interrupted with 95-98% from gear, casting spells where you have very high skill and against mobs that are Too Weak, we can safely conclude that there is little or no base rate.

I'd completely forgotten about COR roll, I don't recall ever having seen it in action. Unfortunately, testing it would be a mess, it's like Aquaveil with possibly 12 different -interrupt tiers (including the bust), plus bonus with and without a bard in the party.

Late response and all but I just realized you didn't clarify.. does, "it works," mean that pld's and party member's in range spells could not be interrupted by the god's melee attacks?
