Be warned: This is going to feel like a QQ thread, but this is something I'm very pissed about.

I'm level 70 RDM, and I pride myself on my melee build for general situations. I skilled up sword as much as I can, as well as level shield and parry as much as possible for my PLD job in the works. As such, it is only logical that I'd try to get a Joyuese.

On my old character, I have attempted to camp Charybdis 3 times, and all three times she has popped up in the most inconvenient times of when my linkshell is not available. On my new character, I attempted this again, camping for over six hours because I did not know the ToD.

She pops, and I go to my LS for help. The first one failed, the second one: sucess. I get a 75 THF and 75 NIN to help me, but on one condition: It's a free lot because THF wants Joyuese too. Shocked as I was, I agreed, since I would like the chance to kill her in the first place.

They come, and we kill the Devil Manta to avoid aggro/link. THF pulls before NIN could get shadows up. Her HP plummets from full to red HP. I'm forced to Cure IV her to give her a chance of survival, and I get smacked around and dropped to red HP. NIN dies soon after. THF evades attacks, but takes a bunch of hits one round. I did Cure III instead of IV, but that was still enough to take hate and die. THF dies soon after.

I HP, then the THF blames the wipe on me because I was /PLD and I didn't know my job. Never mind that my subjob has absolutely nothing to do with the wipe because even PLD has access to cures, but I've also been soloing for 6+ hours so /PLD was a far better choice for that purpose. I explain that to him, then kindly tell him to piss off.

Now, I admit I did one thing wrong and it was that I didn't cast blind. That much, I would've accepted, but the THF didn't even bring it up.

I get to Kazham and change sub to WHM. As soon as I do, I noticed that my party was promptly disbanded. I then automatically knew that the THF was going to take Charybdis for himself. I immediately tell my LS, and they gather up as much people as they could to try to beat him to the punch. However, by the time I am there, the THF already had people gathered up: A WHM and a NIN to claim, then a BRD and another NIN came to solidify their victory. With that, the THF claimed his Joyuese, and all I got is ToD.

Needless to say, I am very upset as this happened merely an hour ago. If anyone here ends up seeing a player named Ruthlesss, please kindly give him the middle finger for me. Never in the five years of my playtime have I ever been so cheated and insulted. It's players like these that make the game even less tolerable than it already is.

It's sad to see people who are close-minded when it comes to subjobs. I don't advocate stupid combinations (BLM/WAR for example), but /PLD isn't so bad as you think.

Also, I think the THF needs to relax a bit and realize that the world doesn't revolve around them. Dying while trying to get an item is but a minor setback.

Is there any reason to suspect this person is now planning on moving servers? If not, this really doesn't belong here. Frankly even if he was moving servers this is hardly a warning-worthy story. The THF might have been a bit rude, and rekilling with a different group than the person who alerted him it was up is hardly polite, but come on.

tbh and not to be mean, but I don't see any use in /pld sub for rdm... If you came /whm you could have RRed up and raised the other people...

Really, it sucks that this happened, but it's not enough for a warning tbh. Step back for a few minutes and take it easy. It happens to all of us; people are competitive when it comes to nm's, and some of them are asses. If this is how the guy normally treats others, he'll develop a reputation over time and you won't even have to speak a word to warn others.
