Sigh, you only really need one RDM for that purpose, Elegy and Slow last long enough for the RDM to build 100TP on VT troll.

Now let me clarify this, I never say DB is definitely going to work. I simply point out it needs more testing and it's wrong to assume the idea will not work because RDM will never be able to gain enough TP to land DB on HNM.

It only took 30 posts and just under 3 hours for the other shoe to drop. If it wasn't all so stupid, I would be impressed. Why don't we just fucking sub in a series of Galka SAM/MNKs in HP builds to use Spirits Within with Meditate and their 2 hour to quickly take down anything!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!

    Right guys?

I am more impressed by ppl who compare a series of Galka SAM/MNK in HP builds + 2hr spirit within shit with a RDM who simply build TP on surrounding weak mob and do a weaponskill every 1-2 mins on HNM.

And a SAM/MNK could do the same thing, and yet...

    they don't.

See, what you don't seem to get is that while potentially useful, people are not going to take a RDM normally doing something else to do this. Or have someone change jobs to do this. Realistically, I want my fucking RDM on his damn toes watching to make sure shit doesn't get out of hand, not 50" away meleeing some trash mob so he can rub one out to a 150 damage WS that may or may not actually help buffs land better.

    For god's sake.
Read the whole thread again, the whole concept is based on the assumption that DB WILL grant sufficient magic accuracy for BRD and RDM to land debuffs. To compare:

    1 melee RDM + 1 debuff RDM/WHM + 1 BRD/WHM
Consistent elegy/slowII/paralyzeII, BRD can cure status ailments

    vs.

    2-3 BRD/BLM, 1 RDM/BLM
Consistent elegy, ES slow II that last for couple mins, no status cure from BRD and RDM

    Call yourself a RDM?

So, you are trading a BRD for a melee RDM? Awesome. If you are a real RDM, I don't ever want to fucking be one. Your assumption that /BLM is required to land an enfeeble is laughable. Thank god that RDM/BLM will land Slow2 once every 10 minutes!

If you want to reduce one if your RDMs to effectively a one trick pony, be my guest.

Edit: Is your real objective here to try to cover up for terrible BRDs and RDMs by sacrificing one of your shit RDMs to just be a Death Blossom whore?

Every RDM who took part in TAU HNM fight knows how difficult it is to land debuffs. Slow II inflicts around 15% of slow effect compared to 9% haste effect of tier I March. It will be more beneficial to keep slow II on HNM such as Cerberus all the time. Khim and Cerb both use TP moves with nasty status effect.

Melee RDM can always throw in extra cures/refresh/haste if the situation calls for it. If you tanks are so poor they need double March to keep shadows up there are another 10+ slots in your alliance, it's perfectly ok to replace a melee job with melee RDM since your tank party is more likely to benefit more from consistent slowII and paralyze II.

It would be more accurate to say that you are trading the least valuable member of your alliance for melee RDM, since melee RDM is effectively self-sufficient; it doesn't really matter what party they are in.

If you want to reduce one if your RDMs to effectively a one trick pony, be my guest.
If Composure/Enspell2/DB allows you to perpetually enfeeble previously resistant monsters, that's a pretty damn good one trick.

This is before you consider the other benefits like lower resists on nukes; if you did not previously consider COR giving Wizard's/Warlock's to BLMs as a "waste of space," it'd be hard to argue that an RDM that provided a similar bottom-line increase to nuke damage is a waste.

It looks that way at first, but even as PLD on shit like Suzaku I hit for 0 a lot more often than what I'd like, to the point where I had honestly debating working on some Ares's pieces to try out.

On the bright side there's a couple of slots that don't give major acc as RDM that I could forfeit Haste in for a large amount of attack, and go with something like:

    Optical/PCC/Hollow/Brutal
    Paluwhan(or AJ)/Tarasque/Acc Rings
    Amemet+1/Swift(or Life)/Dusk/Ogre

I haven't fought a Sky god since the update, but we did do a round right beforehand where I had a lot of success using DB to open the fights.

As far as continuing to do so later in the fights, at the time I was still mired by pre-satchel inventory issues so couldn't really fit the gear I wanted on me, and there's still some AoE moves that I'm not particularly keen on getting hit with like Roar/Shriek/Dispelling Wind.

If your RDM can only (sometimes) land slow2 with a benefit of 15%, you could always just haste your tanks instead of absolutely having to melee on RDM. I hear even a decent RDM can keep that effect up 100% of the time without having to melee. You could even Refresh them too, but who has the time? Death Blossom definitely has it's place, realistically at the opening of a fight, but you are trying way too hard to make it seem better than it really is. I haven't even seen tests to prove it's effectiveness yet, all I keep hearing are these screenshot lacking claims that it was awesome! Yeah, OK.

I'm done with you. At least when Neo and I get into pissing contests, he is just a prick instead of being an idiot.

The funny thing is when I started posting all I want to know is whether DB/enspellII actually offer significant magic accuracy for RDM and BRD to land debuff without ES. Since I already left the game I won't be able to do it myself.

Instead all I get is ppl:
    A) Keep attacking melee RDM because everyone blindly believe a RDM will never pull off TP + DB since it's a mage job and should never be allowed to melee.

    B) Question the benefit of having a melee RDM even under the assumption that ENII/DB actually offer significant amount of magic accuracy

I simply point out they are not true.

    LOL @ Wiki

    Historical Background

Death Blossom is a term originally from the 1984 movie "The Last Starfighter" in which a fighter pilot fires all weapons indiscriminately in several directions. It was later adopted by the US military during Operation Iraqi Freedom, again meaning to unleash a hail of fire indiscriminately.

I want to fire all weapons indiscriminately in several directions on HNMs
This was brought up a while ago when the name of the WS was first announced lol

Seriously go back and read my post with a magnifying glass. You should have TWO RDMs, one is doing DB and the other one stays in your tank party to debuff and haste/refresh/cure.
