Brides Entrance - Title Black - Final Fantasty Tactics intro (actually this is the one we had cut, adjusted, and the tempo slowed a bit)
Both sound extremely cliche on paper, but the cadence, tempo, and musci worked UNBELIEVABLY well.

During the ceremony, we played The Fray - I'll look after you

At the reception, we started out with Stolen by Dashboard Confessional.

We had more compliments on the music than we did on anything else, food, cake, and even dress.

I am looking for something that really gets the blood pumping and people excited, so that when we rise up they will be ecstatic and break out into cheers and applause.

There is a version of the zelda theme as played by the Tokyo Orchestra (sorry, no youtube link handy but I can post it tonight if anyone wants and can't find it) that is really awesome, which I have been considered. However, it's just slightly goofy.

I would very much like to avoid a song that people have heard a hundred times before.

I am going to listen to a lot of these songs when I get home. I am thinking about that Kill Bill song that was mentioned, but I need to hear it again.

I did the same research for this when I did my own dramatic entrance last year.

Background:
I play in a monthly poker group. At the end of the year we do a championship pitting all the monthly champs plus the top money winners. Well, my friends, the cream rose to the top and yours truly won.

I'm a pretty poor winner so I couldn't just show up for the new season of tournaments without rubbing it into everyone's faces. I used some of my winnings to make a poker belt

and bought a fog machine and laser lights from Amazon:

The trick with the laser light is to point the light at the audience so they dance through the smoke. It works so awesomely. Just like I was in the WWE.

Getting that stuff was easy. Choosing the perfect song was tough. My perfect song was one that had a long intro before the first lyric. One that built up slowly and crescendoed into a kick ass, heart thumping song.

My first thought was Hells Bells by AC/DC. But I looked into other songs to see if something was better. I even considered some of the song previously mentioned in this thread. None of these had everything I was looking for. It turns out that my first choice was the best choice.

The song starts with just a church bell, then a guitar kicks in, then at about the minute mark the drums kick in, and finally, Brian Johnson starts wailing in at the minute and a half mark.


The next tournament:
So January of 2008 rolls around and I have my buddy volunteer his house for the first tourney of the new season. His house was perfect because he has a short hallway that leads from his garage to his living room.

I arrive early and park in his garage. Once everyone arrives, my buddy tells everyone that I'm going to be late but we should start without me. So everyone sits down and just as we are about to start, my buddy turns down the lights. Then he fills up the hall with fog and flips on the lasers. And then the music kicks in.

Bong.....bong....

When the drums kick in, I walk in from the garage holding up my championship belt above my head like I'm fucking Chris Jericho. It was epic. Worked exactly as I imagined it.

And throughout the night I kept referring to myself as "Champ."

The Top Gun Anthem also has a nice build-up, but it really gets started around 1:25, which may be a little long.

To Zanarkand - FFX is a solid pick as well.

I'll also say Final Countdown, but as a last resort.
