Perez Hilton loses Pageant for Miss CA

She was brave when she gave her opinion.
After that she got on the sympathy cock to promote her opinion, and she rode it hard girl.
Now she's getting the sympathy cock aids: IE anything extremely embarrassing and/or hypocritical is coming to light.

Ok so, I realize I'm arguing on the Internet here. I'm just typing out my own opinion really, feel free to treat as such.

This woman is Brave first and foremost, and either a genius or a complete idiot second. She went in front of a panel judging her on what they, the panel, wanted to hear and gave an answer that she wanted knowing full well it would infuriate at least one person. That took balls and I will give her praise for that. Nothing that happens to her afterward can take away the fact that she did something very brave that we do not see often in society. (That someone chooses the path they think believe in, not what they know will get them ahead)

As to my Genius / Idiot comment: She knew this would either lose or jeopardize the pageant for her. She had to, and if she ever claims she didn't then that answers that right there. But if she did, and she did so with the intent of riding the fundie love wave she's getting she deserves even more credit. And dumb pretty girl can win a pageant. It takes a brilliant one to win by loosing.

However, her answer itself is not impressive. She wandered and waffled and didn't sound confident in her answer. I'll nod to the pressure she was under, but even if we trim out the waffling we're left with a basic statement.

In our family we believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be – between a man and a woman.

She stated her belief. Great, she deserves the praise she's getting from the other people who share her belief. How many of them in the same place would have taken that stand? But now she's in transit from role model to spokes person, which means that her past achievements stand on their own merit and everything she does going forward can be judged independently.

Which allows us to segway to the present:
She's getting all this praise because it is based on the fact that people believe she has a strong conviction to her statement.

Since her pageant, she's come under increasing scrutiny not primarily because people want to see her fail; though that is the point of the scrutiny she's getting. It is because, instead of fading into obscurity after having a poignant moment she's riding her fame for every drop of love juice it can give her before its dry. Instead of letting people use the image of what she bravely did, she's choosing to represent an opinion herself. Any future criticism she gets then is appropriately directed at her; because she is choosing to be the personification of her opinion.

This is why then she was brave, now she's appearing more as a girl who had a grude against her gay dad. Like, a bad grude. And a mom/step dad who didn't necessarily go out of their way to tell her not to be a tart.

But! the 'racy' photo's of her aren't really racy. At all. So? Who cares if her pictures don't make her a whore, she's been whored out via media by all the focus on the family groups. They're using her for all they can to stir up support, and again: if she believes it, its ok. If she's doing it for revenge, its stupid.

I can't find that she said she wasn't going to sue the MISS USA people for being 'persecuted'. In fact, she broke one of their rules. Is an increasingly public face (thathas a negative connotation to them) and has a claim against her there are more photo's coming. If more come out against her (like, she has boob somewhere out there) then its probably over as far as the Miss Cali. What does that mean for miss Man & Woman USA?

(Sarcastic)Big deal. But! The superwoman who courageously said she believes in a man and a woman becomes just another Christian, albiet a pretty one. They'll have to stop introducing "Miss Cali (And will never be Former Miss cali)" and they get to deal with the fallout of 'scandolous pictures' regardless of actual content. I wouldn't be surprised if she looses her crown that they drop her on her pretty little ass and that's that. I say this because, if then, she becomes a spokeswoman who is a liability politically. That is, if she's not already............

Given that her dad is gay, and depending on how bad the blood is there it could get really funny regardless of what happens with the beauty show. I'm actually looking forward to more information on this. I can't imagine any Dad would want to crucify his daughter, but if she attacks him first or better, the family groups uses her & her past to attack gay people....well, THAT'S what I'm waiting for. Because that would be hilarious.

ITP, Christians cannot be models. Seriously, you think that picture is acting "like a whore"? Really? There are more provocative pictures in modeling magazines. As I said, the Miley Cyrus photos (she's what, 16?) showed more. We are very good friends with photographers that do these kinds of shoots, hell, I've posted pictures of my wife in similar shots. TBH, I think she's showed more skin in some of her pregnancy shoots we've done.

Maybe my post was more strongly-worded than it should have been, I was pretty pissed off that someone had just pulled the "they're being mean to her because she's a Christian" card. Yeah, they are, because she's using her Christianity as a basis to be mean to other people. Reap what ye shall sow and all that. I don't think taking pictures for a lingerie magazine is the same thing as sucking dick for money. I'm not stupid. But my point remains valid: When you allow people to take semi-nude pictures of you at age 17 you have to be one hell of a hypocrite to think you have the moral high ground when it comes to one man sucking another man's dick.
