PoL Won't Update FFXI

I havent played FFXI for a few months now. I've played for a very long time.

I'm using windows vista 64 bit, and have been for the past year and a half with FFXI.
Everytime I go to update FFXI - it verifies all my files and goes to download the patch files and stuff. About 5 minutes into the 4 hour download, it stops.

It gives me POL-0250. No response from server. Try again.
This has been like this for a week.

Any help?

POL Error Recent Update

Barring that, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling POL only?
