    DDR3 RAM worth it?

Just as the title says, I'm building a new PC and I'm trying to decide between the increasingly rare DDR2 RAM and the new DD3 RAM. I remember reading that there are problems with DDR3 RAM somewhere but I forget where I read that. Figured I'd just ask here.

Not really, but the i7 processors only work with DDR3 memory so if you get one of the newer processors you don't have a choice. Otherwise, the price/performance of DDR2 is still better for most games/tasks.

Blah, yeah I'm getting an i7 processor most likely (want to future-proof as much as possible) so DDR3 it is.

It's also worth noting that the new Phenom IIs that use the AM3-ready sockets also use DDR3 memory, though I don't think they require it like the Core i7s..

Careful about "future proofing" I've done it several times and after a few months (3-6) it's still time to upgrade in some way shape or form. If you have money to spend, you are always going to be like "hmm, thats a nice case" or whatnot.

My system right now is baller lol, but I was looking at cases just because I thought I would need more airflow cause right now it's cluttered in mine, even though it runs cool as it is.

Future proof only lasts 2-3yrs, it's just like a car or tv.
