Most of the fun I've had with the demo and the actual game has been playing with friends or online, though I haven't really touched Career mode so I can't say yet.

Edit : 3-1 so far online, all 3 wins via Kimura lol

Ohhhh boy here we go already with the whiners.

Certain fighters are always going to be better, just like certain guns in FPS, teams in sports games etc.

There are always going to be people who can't stand to lose so they use the best they can. No sense in whining as annoying as it is, just makes people look like a bitch.

People flock toward A. Silva, Rampage, and Evans because it's the fairweather thing to do, just like 99% of you did when MMA became huge in the U.S. and UFC blew up.

Anyways so far my favorites are The Truth Vera, Kenflo, Kendall Groves, and of course Nate Diaz. I don't really use characters in game that I don't root for IRL (which is about 75 of them)

I played rank last night and was like 3-1 then got beat 2 straight and figured id play player matches till i got the mechanics down more =(

I havent checked player matches records (can you even check that or is only ranked?)
but I am guessing I am probably 30-20 or so, still not as consistent as I would like. My stand up game needs looooads of work.

You really need to do Career starting out as such a pussy fart forces you to learn the standing game counters and your ground game much faster than you would online.

Apparently either my connection has issues or there are lag issues with the server. I ended up losing all three of my online attempts yesterday. It sucked, got knocked out once and kimura'ed twice. Ah well, I'll keep trying today. I was using Cain Velasquez two out of the three times. Then I switched over to Jon Fitch. The results were still the same lol.

So far im 10-4 in my career mode, I chose to go welterweight since its one of the most exciting divisions in the UFC. I still cant figure out how to once I initiate a hold, get the submission to go, I usually win by ground and pound or a tightly placed head kick.

Also I understand what tommy is saying and the people I use online are griffin, sadollah, leites(sp) and kendell grove. For the record I fought 5 silva's last night and beat every one of them with leites.

The CAF is nice, just got my ass kicked two amtches in a row by GSP and Diego Sanchez, fuckin took me down and knocked me out. Make sure if you do CAF spar as much as you can to get your skills properly boosted, Ive worried too much with speed and str that good fighters beat the shit out of me on the gorund.

I actually have my strength and speed fairly high in CAF. But what I've been doing is pumping most of my skill points from sparring into punching offense, kicking offense, and takedown defense. I'm fighting at light heavyweight and I went through Tim Boetsch, Keith Jardine, Tito Ortiz, Wanderlei Silva, and Stephan Bonnar to the point where I'm at now. My takedown defense is high enough that the only person that was able to get me down on the ground was Bonnar and I was able to brute strength my way out and get back up.

And Shue I think you would enjoy it if you picked the game up. It's a lot of fun. And it's hella fun having a buddy grab the second controller and throwing down in the same room lol.

I've pretty much been playing Career only (a few Classic Fights here and there) since I got it. Currently I'm Light Heavyweight Champion, 25-5-0 (all KO/TKO), Cred 73074, 82/71/70 ST/SP/CR, Lv3 Kickboxing, Lv1 Wrestling, and slowly working on bringing all my individual stats up to 70 (3 left). All equipment and sponsors are unlocked. Trophy case is almost full, just need 4 more SOTNs, the Wrestling trophy, and the Hall of Fame trophy.

I'm at a point right now where I've successfully defended the title 7 times now and every time Dana sends me an email about a title defense, it's always a mixture of Evans/Griffin/Rampage/Silva/Machida to choose from. =\ In between PPVs it's just Spar -> Rest -> Spar -> Rest -> Activity -> Spar -> Rest, etc.. Very grindy at this point. I'm playing on Advanced, so it's not like the fights are a push over for me, but since I'm always against the same fighters I know how to beat them every time. I played a few hours today and the last couple fights were a stretch to get done because I was getting bored. I want to play online, but I HATE the PS3 bluetooth headset and most people want to talk or whatever, so I end up just saying meh.

I played it with my buddy last night, and when two people are beside each other it's much more fun lol. He has the game too, but he hasn't played as much, so with the exception of a couple random lucky flash KOs, I won every fight lol.

Overall though I'm having a lot of fun and can't wait for gameplay patches and legendary fighter DLC.

EDIT: First Undisputed event is set for May 31 -- http://www.undisputedonline.net . Sign ups open until tomorrow night.

Just from playing with my friends in my barracks room, I can definitely say that a huge key to the game is learning how to do all the transitions on the ground. Rubber Guard is a thing of beauty once you figure it out, especially playing a character who can drop into guard from the clinch (Griffin, etc).

I've come to the conclusion that I am pretty much the worst fighter online in the history of man. I've been playing career mode for the most part. I'm sitting at 23-0 in light heavyweight with all of them TKO's. I've been stuck with Machida, Rampage, Griffin, Rashad, and Liddell being the constant contenders. Every now and then Thiago Silva slips in there. But I wish that they had changed things up so when it's the same guys over and over that sooner or later they could put in some of the guys I've never fought.

About 30-8 online. Majority of them KO's but I have at least 6 submissions.

The thing with online is knowing how to quickly adapt to another person's playing style. Because (I'll retract my earlier statement about Anderson Silva and choosing the top tier guys) it honestly doesn't matter who you pick, anyone can beat anyone.

As far as career mode goes, sparring and splurging points is the key to winning IMO. Sparring and Cardio. I've YET to beat a computer by submission, WHAT THE FUCK.
