When on the ground grappling defensively, just hold the right joystick to the right, wait for the CPU/other person to make their move (you'll block it), and then counter it with a move of your own.

23-28 online.....lost 14 wins because of people dashboarding when they getting raped, fuck this game and its shitty developer for not noticing that shit.

This is a problem with pretty much every single fighting game with online play (first noticeably reared it's head with Soul Calibur IV, and has just gotten worse since then), and will likely be a problem unless some way develops to distinguish between a forced dc and a "real" one (i.e. probably never).

Low Counter one of the knees and he'll turtle up on his back.

Got back to 30-30 online after playing a few real people that wont quit even after severe ass beatings, should have 50 wins by now but what can ya do. If anyone wants to fight

You cant, your also forced to retire after about 7 or 8 years in career

yeah career mode does get dull after awhile, plus it takes forever to actually get stats comparable to the top fighters in your division, you have to fight people like lesnar with skill levels that should make u lose in seconds. How can the champ be overall less than 60, wth.....

I've figured out how to block offensive ground counters now, and i'm getting used to blocking takedown attempts. My standup still sucks but my transitions are pretty flawless on the ground now. I'm unbeaten in my last 10 fights online :D

Still have the issue of rediculous lag on some servers and the age old problem of people leaving when i've got them in full mount and they can't get out <_>

Just started playing this. So far very good. Hopefully I don't encounter any game breaking exploits. Has potential.

Aesthetically it is the best looking fighting game I've played. It has a realness to it, it is incredibly fun just to watch.

Haven't fought on-line yet, but I have brought 4 characters through the career mode.

If your submission rating isn't extremely high (85+), don't even bother trying to submit the computer until you have them 1/2 way into the second round or later. Stamina plays a big role in the submission game.

Easiest submissions to land for me have been guillotine chokes from the Sprawl, and Triangle Choke's from Rubber Guard.

Right now I like using BJ Penn because his steps/dodges/spacing is awesome. However, I can't ever land the "dodge punch" or whatever fancy name it might have. I mean when you dodge back, then lunge forward to punch. Every fucking time I just punch behind their head, missing completely. Any tips on this?

FINALLY got around to playing this, despite how much I hyped myself to it before its release. Really liking it. Theres an exploit when creating players to make them beastly but I was still wondering if it was possible to make somebody stronger in career since the exploit doesn't raise strength, speed, and card.

Now that this thread has resurfaced, I'll say that I refuse to play online until THQ releases a patch that gives quitters auto-losses. Take your loss like a fucking man and stop turning off your PS3s. There are sooooooooo many people with ridiculous unbeaten records that I destroy and then they suddenly disappear before they can get KO'd or submitted. Such fucking bullshit.
