Turning on PS3 crashes internet, annoying as hell.

Anyone else have this problem? When I turn on the PS3 it kills the rest of the internet just long enough for me to have to relog on ffxi and stuff, if anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know, I am so fed up with it.

Perhaps Some of the ports you have open on your router are conflicting in some way? Check the ps3 website, and it has which ports to use, and see what you actually have open, and see if anything conflicts.

Try disabling uPnP in your router and disabling media sharing in the ps3. See if that helps.

I had this EXACT same problem with my old router. After doing some research I found out that some routers got broken after a Windows XP update that reinstated some old networking code that most routers didn't work properly with for some reason. I'm not exactly sure what the issue was but without a firmware update there was no fix for my router and sadly Linksys had discontinued the model and I had no choice but to upgrade.
