To all you DMB fans:
As a local musician its sad to be thrown in the midst of this kind of retarded culture. It's not a concert, it's a party...and that's fine, but don't pass it off as a real musical experience.Because the entire culture built around this mediocre band is not one of celebrating music or the live element of music. Same with Buffett. The promoter might as well play the record and do without the appearance fee for the band.
It's not the DMB's fault (although in Buffett's case, he actively promotes the fact that it's really not about music at all), and too often I forget to mention this fact. They're just up there having fun. I can't blame them for doing a lame shed tour, either, because it's easy to do and it's easy money.
I guess the thing that gets me about shed shows, especially the party-style ones like DMB, Buffett, Chesney, etc., is that I don't see where the connection is with the music that is bringing you to the show. You only go to one or two shows a year, and one of them is one where 90% of the audience is too fucked up to notice if the band is actually playing live or not? I just don't get it.
For the record, Buffett is miles and miles worse than DMB.
Also, FWIW, I feel this way about people who treat sporting events as social soirees.
Of course. As I said before; its just a giant hippy-fest. We just go to get blazed in public, amongst other people doing the same thing. Its just for the party atmosphere.
However, many of the live shows are very good, even when not stoned. Or so I hear, because I'm generally blazed out of my mind when I'm listening to Dave concerts.
Getting blazed and listening to DMB wasn't even cool back in 1992.
This thread is shaping up. Continue prz.
When Tim Reynolds plays with Dave, it's as legit as you can get. Ants Marching and Warehouse at Luther College are fantastic.
So to summarize:
Dynamis Schedulers are great if everyone agrees to use them.
Any one person, can wreck that, and is perfectly within their rights to do so.
Dave Matthews takes it up the ass from Numbers, and subs WHM to COR.
Of all the music to listen to blazed... DMB?
Come on man.
Radiohead is about 10x better for stoners. Seriously.
But really this thread is retarded and should have been locked. WAY TO FAIL MODS
PS: I think I still have a pearl to Cyr's dynamis LS
If you still need one, I think I might know where you can get one.

It's a shame your members don't hold you in the same "high regard" that you have for them.
Also, Hirro is a big boy. If he wants to respond to me calling him an ignorant pussy, he can speak for himself.
lol
Dynamis Schedules are set up by players, not SE. And as such the ToS or rules do not force players to use these schedules. As much as I find them useful, and find that the players who follow them make life easier for everyone, you can't expect everyone to just follow something like that. There are going to be people who don't want to follow a schedule and just take whatever zones they want, and that was how dyna was put into the game in the first place.
And no matter how much you moan about someone taking your zones, you can't force someone to believe in your ideals or beliefs, or follow your systems. And yes, there are going to be people who use the schedule just to find out when you do a run, and then try to get in before you, that's the downfall to a non-mandatory public organizational system for things like Dyna.
Tell me something I don't already know.
