i got keylogged....halp

so my account got jacked from me the other night from most likely a keylogger. im thinking it came from the addons that i updated for 3.1 cuz i use firefox as a browser.

does anyone know of a program that has worked for them to remove keyloggers? or am i gonna have to reformat to be sure its gone?

Also, your addons aren't the problem if you're downloading them from the places that actually check their files for consistency (curse, wowui, wowinterface), and firefox isn't your problem either if you're using noscript like a good internet person.

Unless you can prove the source of your hack was actually contained within a set of addons you downloaded from curse, I doubt it.

The reports I've seen about keyloggers being "uploaded" to curse are misconstrued, they're all exactly like the same exploits that hit BG/FFXIAH/FFXI-Atlas/etc...a clickjacking ad loading in the ad frames on the site.

Curse has nothing to do with it.

guartz: Got keylogged from an ad on Curse maybe, but I doubt it was directly from curse.com and if you were using NoScript correctly, highly unlikely.

OP: head over to Tech, post a Hijackthis log, and run MalwareBytes, both apps are listed in the sticky.

ok people dont have to say FF+NS 100 times. call bliz, get your account back, as they said 100 times FF+NS, if its really bad wipe the comp.(it should almost never come to this though) and after your good do get the token, just to be safe you never know.

also id prob not use your CC for anything on that comp anymore(if you ever did)

Although I dunno about the blizz one, I've not seen any complaint threads on it. I don't use a token myself, I've never had an issue with my account over the decades of gaming.

Anyway, NS actually has to be configure... alot more then its default install to protect you, that and every site (even your own) should be on untrusted list!

When Wrath first came out, there were like 4 people in our guild that got hacked and one other person that I know. It seems like ppl get hacked a lot more these days so I got an authenticator right away. 6.50 is a small price to pay to not have to worry about your shit.

I have to agree with Setsuko, getting an authenticator was the best 7 bucks I ever spent. It's worth every penny. However, the 6-digit number only lasts 1 minute (and changes). I've been denied access right when I hit enter after entering the numbers and the next minute times over.
