See, I have a problem with this. Charitwo contributes there and he and I played on Pandemonium together as well as with a few others back in the day and let me tell you, he is the definition of a twit. Some of the outlandish shit that spewed from his mouth were absolutely mind numbing. I mean seriously, he has the combined IQ of a box fan and a standard roll of masking tape.

The swear filters are in place because Allakhazam is supposed to be a family friendly site, not because SE makes us. There are really only two forums that allow swearing, The Asylum and OOT. That and forums we forget about anyway.

I was gone from the game at that point in time period. I had no clue he was part of the wiki team until 2006 or so but had known him since NA release I would occasionally see him ranting and raving here on BG about how great he is and correcting everything everyone was saying it certainly added to my library of lulz provided by him.

They explained what happened, and it appears that they could not publicly address the issue until the dev team acknowledged the issue. They also promised to make sure that the lack of communication doesn't happen again. They know they screwed up and the fact that they have gone on to post on one of the premiere sites with an apology and explanation means a lot. They could have just left it as is with the message that was on POL, but they went the extra mile. Now I am not saying that them taking 2 weeks to address the issue is a good thing. But they at least owned up to it and they are taking the steps to communicate with us. This is the first time that I can recall SE publicly giving details as to how the ball was dropped on their end when it came to something they screwed up.

They didn't explain what happened. They didn't say it was a bug or an unexplained and largely unwanted feature.

They didn't promise shit. They said they're "working hard to ensure this lack of communication does not repeat itself in the future." That's no promise, that's just fishing for sympathy and people saying they're trying so hard.

It doesn't matter if the message is on POL or Alla; it's still just a PR post. It's not a two way communication. It wasn't an extra mile, it was an extra foot.

They have owned up to things before. They usually just make it a small statement, rather than a large ambiguous one.

They didn't publicly give any details as to what went wrong. They said they had to coordinate what to do. That is what every MMO company in the history of MMOs has had to do. They didn't say what made it hard to coordinate. They didn't say why this happened. They said nothing more than they usually say: they just said it in paragraph form.
