After the Salvage Bans I was like one of the only people who was LM-11d. Recently it changed to a LM-17

Take it from someone who was salvage/nyzul glitch banned, my LM 17 had said something a little different and they changed it like two or three weeks ago.

"This account has been banned due to violation of the PlayOnline or FFXI agreements. Accounts that have been banned will not be <b>Reinstated</b> under any circumstances. Please refer to the "Account Penalties" page under "Online Manners" in the "Rules and Policies" section of the official website for details on account penalties. (LM-17)"

Granted this was with no previous violations or anything and not getting anything out of the glitch. However, SE said <^> to us and people that I personally know from my server who made Gil off it and got several pieces of gear at best only received suspensions.

Anyway from that message you should be fine, and you did say it was a mistake, granted you did openly admit to fish botting but saying you "tend" to do it while not afk just to make it less tedious and isn't as bad as people who go away for a week and leave it on lol.

I recently got my first suspension to my character due to an argument and some harsh words were exchanged, apparently telling someone to go eat a fetus smoothie is not okay after the new etiquette changes. I contacted SE about this and wanted to know where they stood on the LM-17/LM-11 issue:

Me: I spoke to you guys earlier about my account, the Tier III I spoke with said that it was suspended until 12:00am Pacific Time on 03/28/2009 but my account is showing an LM-11, I thought this meant a ban?
SEI POL Nathan: That is not correct. The LM-11 and LM-17 don't specify one over the other. This account is currently under suspension, which is set to end at the date you have provided.
Me: Alright, unfortunately ever since 1/22/09 people everywhere are saying that it means perma-ban and there has been a lot of confusion.
Me: so I got paranoid and just needed to confirm
SEI POL Nathan: I understand. Only a GM or the PlayOnline information center can confirm such information.
SEI POL Nathan: Anything else you read is most likely speculation or ones own experience.
Me: Is there anywhere on the site that lists what the different codes mean?

This is wrong.

The events of Salvage bans are not dogma. I was temp banned 5x before perma and each temp was a LM-11. Perma was LM-17.

Answer is that it isn't static. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't have a fucking clue. Not that it is something to brag about but I think I have more experience with LM-xx than most here, so, the 1-strikers who got a random code aren't really qualified to talk about the randomness of it.

Edit: I was unaware of the change as well, this is all over the past few years. I guess it's not random anymore!

My guess is that like any other processing system, the people that do the bannings have a list of what each LM is supposed to be and when generating the ticket they sometimes screw it up.

It happens in every office all the time around the world. LOL

Didnt someone post GM guide on BG a while back but SE asked them (lawyers probably) to remove it? Companies are hush hush about that for some weird ass reason. Most corporations I have worked for require you to turn back in the employee handbook when you resign.

Also, lol at not getting banned for fish-botting. I wonder if SE is running low on revenue. ^^

I suspect that it was my demeanor when talking to the GMs.

Most people that bot are asshats and deny any wrongdoing and argue with the GM.

I would never report someone for skilling up magic, that's just mean. Crafting only if it was obvious, like if they fucked with the delay somehow to spam synths without it. But if you're gonna bot skillups at least do it in your MH where it's out of sight -_-
