Low-man HNM

Just a quick question about what would be the minimum amount of people required to kill certain HNMs, namely Tiamat/Fafnir (hopefully Nidhogg)/King Behemoth/Aspidochelone.

I'm hoping that all can be done with 6, and that's the goal that my group of friends and I have (for the far off future of course )

Here's ideas I have so far...

For Tiamat, either something like 3 BLM, RDM, WHM, NIN/DRK or something along those lines, using BLM as the main DD or SAM/WAR x2, RDM, BRD, WHM, THF. In either setup I'm not sure how exactly to handle the adds... that's most of what I have questions on.

As for Fafnir/KB I just was wondering what the best forms of damage would be for him.

Also for Aspidochelone, is it possibly to kill him within the rage timer/even damage him with 6 people? This is the only HNM I listed that I have almost no experience on, lol, so I have no idea. I'm assuming BLMs are best for him.

iv yet to *low man* fafnir, but im told 2x rdm bard whm have killed it? i mean 4 people.

as for tia, whm+tank+bard+rdm+ 3blm should be all you need. willing to bet it could be done with less, but agian iv never low maned this myself(hell i thinkt he 4-5 kills iv had with tia was with close to a full ally+ a few with even 20+ people)

aspid iv done with as few as 8.
2dd(2x sam with rana best not a must though)blmx2+2 tanks(he is so easy to tank though so its w/e 1 tank you could cut out) bard whm.

KB just get a fing tank that knows how to kite(w legs make this a joke)... and blm that have an IQ of like 10 or more and you good.(MY LS wiped to this b/c fucks ran into it like 9 times god im mad at that still lol) maybe with as few as like 6 for a well skilled group? and a normal set up prob 8-10(people with IQs higher then 10)

for the adds anyone can depop them. its not that hard grab them and run.

tbh prob not lol. you want more then 1DD it does have light regen. but agian i have yet to low man him(and with my shell now i dont think i will anytime soon)

I know it has Regen, but a good BLM should be able to pump out enough damage per fly to counter it with 10-11mp/tick.

If only 1 person is taking damage from it I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal, just a quick Cure and Paralyna. There's a JP linkshell on Phoenix that doesn't bother stunning either because they don't use any melee, so only your PLD or two are getting hit - and you know it won't be using it often if no one is meleeing it anyways.

No TP being fed to it if the PLD is disengaged and I guess relying on Bash? Idk if it has a TP regen, if not, this is the most likely thing unless its bullshit. Fulm does fuck all really if you are buffed too.

If you fight him in the correct spot fulm only hits tanks/melee. As long as you don't take back2back fulms its really not that devastating aegis or no aegis.

3 well geared BLM is all you need for all the HNMs you want to go after in your post. The tank pt will vary however, for Fafhogg and Aspid you can get away with a single tank + BRD + RDM or WHM, however it's safer to have 2 for Nidhogg, in case he puts his wings up and your tank is terrored with no shadows, he can drop you pretty fast.

KB you don't really need a tank, the only time he should hit you is after an AOE stun, whether your PLD or BLM. For Tia you're going to need a decent BRD and tank, or maybe two, in case you get unlucky and she gets pissy just as Elegy and Slow wear.

None of them are hard to lowman however, apart from the claiming part!

So, 3 BLMs is enough for all of those mobs (especially Aspid)? That's good considering we have 2 and 2 more'll be 75 soon enough

As for tanks, what would be the best for each mob? Here are the setups I was thinking of now.

Tiamat: NIN/DRK, BRD/WHM, RDM/WHM, BLM BLM BLM (/RDM for each of them I think)
Fafnir: Same setup, or maybe SAM/WAR x2 tanking with only 2 BLMs? Or DRK/NIN
KB: Anything that can kite for tank I suppose lol. Maybe RDM/NIN, BRD/WHM, BLM x4? All our BLMs are good at kiting.
Aspidochelone: NIN/DRK, SAM/WAR, RDM/WHM, BRD/WHM, BLM/RDM x2 work? Or replace the SAM with another BLM, or replace both SAM and NIN with BLMs and use the RDM as /NIN to tank?

This is all only my personal opinion, but as far as Tia goes- Nin/Drk can tank Tia decently if you have experience, but I would really recommend a Pld/Nin. You need to be sure you can hold as much hate as possible if Blms are gonna be your main DD. Nin/Drk as backup maybe ok. It would probably be good to have a dedicated stunner as well like a Rdm/Drk for all the aga spells and touchdown. You also have to remember that you're gonna get adds, whether its corse, bombs, ants, eles... somethings gonna try to mess your world up, especially low-man. Brd is great to have, 2 would be even better to give your Blms refresh too. While Rdm can be good for healer be sure to have 1-2 dedicated healers that do nothing but cure. Especially if you get stuck in a long battle, always nice to have someone to trade off with to get small breaks in. You can go with 3 Blms, but I only wish you luck and hope that they are well merited and have good elemental and m.acc builds, otherwise you're going to be there a long time. For Faf you'd be fine with Nin/Drk tanking, bring a Sam or 2 for a good SC, a couple healers and a couple Blms, easy fight. KB, A tank with movement gear highly recommended lol. After that a couple healers to chase the tank/tanks and then throw in some Blms/Schs/Smns, don't want your Blms kiting really but I'm not one to say no, I've kited KB many times as Blm with my gaiters on after getting mass hate ><. Aspid Nin/Drk can work, I'v also used Rdm/nin x2, or just a single Pld/nin. 2 or 3 melee DD's at least, cause once again you will most likely get adds. 3+ Blms as well, you've gotta be able to beat the regen. You most likely wont be able to "low man" Aspid just because of the fact of adds and regen. GL to you and hope I've helped a little.

The only reason I said solo tank Tiamat was because I've done it lol. On NIN/DRK too, and it wasn't all that bad, my support was RDM WHM BRD My NIN/DRK can outhate any PLD i've ever tanked with, lol. I think NIN/DRK's become a little underrated recently, but maybe that's just me. Also with 6 people, 1 BRD could give ballad to the BLMs too.

We do have a PLD/NIN but he can't be on all the time and might be losing his internet soon. Also, including him, we have 5 people total right now, lol, hoping to get a few more but the less people we need to do something the better in my opinion.

"Out-hating" anyone isn't an issue when you're killing Tiamat with tank, RDM, WHM, BRD and BLMX3, as any tank-type should have no problem keeping it glued to them. PLD is recommended because it is safer now, especially against Tiamat, and brings far more useful low-man utility. The only issue with a solo-tank wyrm is the hate reset move, which can be circumvented by fighting it Fafnir style 20%-on and having your BLMs ready with ES Sleep.
