LOL, oh man that brings back memories for me. Diabolos did the same thing for me when I was doing CoP, he was able to hit us but we couldn't do anything and wiped shortly after.

This is and always has been a terrible argument. I'd love to see any number of the people who criticize the President go through the day to day decisions that he has to make without losing their mind. I'd love to see any number of the people who are yelling at their TVs when Kobe misses a shot try to do better. I'd love to see any number of the people tearing apart other games design a better one. The idea that you can't criticize someone unless you can do it yourself better is ridiculous, especially when most of us have paid SE hundreds of dollars over the course of the game. If something I'm financially invested in is not performing to my expectations, don't tell me not to complain because I can't personally engineer better code.

That said, I've been happy recently for the most part (except for the silence regarding the enfeebling nerf), I just hate seeing this argument.

You do? Considering that the majority of people complain and don't use this argument, I'm not sure how you've grown tired of it. You're arguing against it as if it were something completely different than what it is, at that.

Criticism is fine, but at the same time, understanding is expected. It's unreasonable to complain without recognizing how and when such things can be expected to go through repairs. If a pizza delivery man's personal car breaks down when he's delivering your food, and he walks the rest of the way to your place, but the pie is cold when he arrives, are you going to not bother asking "what happened?" and not give him a tip? If you're an asshole, sure.

There's nothing wrong with being educated on the matter. In fact, complaints are more valid when you actually understand what's going on. Bitching without acknowledging the big picture is just being useless.

In the past few threads beating up on SEs coding, I've seen it said multiple times. But regardless, I didn't say a majority of people were using the "If you can't do it better..." argument. It doesn't matter how many people use it to make it a bad one. Again, I'm not personally unsatisfied with SEs maintenances.

And if that pizza boy's car breaks down and I get my cold pizza an hour later than I should have...and that pizza man's company makes no apology and gives me no compensation for my cold late pizza, then I may give the driver a tip but I won't be ordering from that pizza company any more. Sucks that his car broke down but why should I have to pay for something that I'm not satisfied with? That is pretty much what SE does most updates, though. Give us a cold pizza a few hours after it was supposed to be here and it may contain toppings we didn't ask for. Then not pick up the phones at HQ when we're calling cause we bit into a anchovie and almost threw up. And while I wouldn't order pizza from SE, I (and most other people) will still deal with the bugs because we've invested years of work into our accounts.

All I have to say about these maint's is, i'm really hoping they stop soon. Our ZNM days have been cockblocked for about 2 weeks now because of all of them.
