they administer the medicine in airsoft pellets?
Anyone know anybody that got the Pig Flu?
Also, anyone watch the Daily show last night?
I'm not sure if I have it as I have hayfever at this time of the year but my throat is slightly sore for some reason last night, and today, swallowing is a tad uncomfortable as there is an irritable itch/pain at the "back of the nose", but normally I feel this kind of sore throat if I'm about to catch a cold.
Waiting until tommorow to see if I start getting a headache/fever/cough... a bit worrying still, I've been sneezing on and off today but my nose is really itchy due to hayfever.
It's swine flu! Clearly the only answer is a bullet to the head so you don't spread the infection to anyone else.
Good work Stig you just sentenced the entire population of London to death.
Blargh. Got home and showered. Just a runny nose at the moment with an irritating throat feeling, I don't think I have a temperature, but I do feel warm, but it is very warm today.
If I start shivering tonight/having difficulties breathing I'll go panic and demand tamiflu. If I feel fine tommorow morning but with a minor runny nose/throat pain I'll most likely ignore.
EDIT: I'm somewhat concerned/paranoid but I think it's fine. I've still got my appetite... if I lose it tommorow then yeh I might worry. No splatter jobs so far either. =p
EDIT2: I guess it was inevitable giving how unclean the London Underground is (metro)
Can I have your helmet when you die? I'll fumigate it and sell it on ebay :D
^beat me to it.
Just seeing the panic going on is amusing. We had two very long, and boring, meetings on the swine flu at my job. Apparently, the child who died at the hospital I work at, couldn't breathe on his/her own. Our VP told us the kid was incubated the entire time, so didn't breathe on anyone/thing.
Still not gonna freak out, if I experience flu like symptoms, I'll just take some flu meds, prolly go to the doctor if it gets worse. If it kills me, oh well, at least I got to see the Elphaba spam thread before it was erased in my lifetime.![]()
BBC homepage headline:
Swine flu spread 'not sustained'
Swine flu does not seem to be spreading in a sustained way outside North America, a World Health Organization official says.
CNN homepage headline:
Number of confirmed H1N1 cases soars
The World Health Organization began distributing antiviral doses to 70 nations Saturday as the number of confirmed cases of swine flu rose to 658 across the globe.
Ok
Got up saturday, sore throat/cough, tiny fever
Went out with some friends, ate a lot, didn't drink much, lost my voice by the end of the day but my sore throat cleared up, but still runny nose. Got some dry coughing towards the evening.
Sunday morning, slight/tiny difficulty in breathing (like, short of breath), runny nose, no fever, cough more or less disappeared. Now, 5:46pm, breathing normal, just runny nose and sneezing, could be hayfever no.
So, for all those that wanted my helmet, nope, for now.![]()
Dammit the pre-death bidding was up to 68 quid and a packet of bourbons ><
Idk if i should take this article seroiusly, but I've been hearing about it on the news all day...:Swine Flu goes person-to-pig; what's next?
Kinda interesting really, hopefully now that this is confirmed, pig farmers don't go near their pigs when they are sick with H1N1. Apparently the virus going back to the source (after it was mutated once) can trigger another mutation, causing huge problems...I guess Egyptians Slaughtering those 300,000 pigs was a good idea after all!
McALLEN, Texas – Texas health officials have confirmed the first death of a United States resident with swine flu.
Few details were immediately released. But health officials say the patient who died earlier this week was a woman in her 30s who lived in Cameron County, along the U.S.-Mexico border. Carrie Williams, spokeswoman with the Texas Department of State Health Services, said Tuesday the woman had other, chronic health problems, but didn't offer specifics.
Last week, a boy from Mexico City died at a Houston hospital, marking the first swine flu death in the United States.
Here's an interesting table made on Wiki: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a5/...fPandemics.jpg
It compares all the Major Flu Pandemics since 1918. I underlined the 4 ones being discussed/compared in the media. Notice that Swine Flu already has a higher death ratio than the normal seasonal flu (not including today's first US resident Texas death; only including recent Mexican deaths/Mexico Visitor-US death).
Also, holy shit at the Avian Flu... 60% death ratio wtf, the Spanish Flu of 1918 wasn't such a big death ratio, but it still killed a lot though I guess...But imagine if the Swine Flu some how becomes as virulent as the Bird Flu...lets hope not...
