The best you can do is drink lots of fluids, take your Tamiflu (and hope that it doesn't get 90%+ resistance before you get the virus or else you'll have to buy Relenza which is more expensive because it comes in an Inhaler), drink chicken soup broth, and rest.

Also, there are many many reports of people throwing up and diarrhea from this, because it binds to the gastrointestinal tract. Some people cough so much that they cant control themselves and vomit. In addition, it can cause serious lung damage, even if you recover from a mild case.

Here's some actual info from the summit itself after that White House letter was sent out; Source: Swine flu summit: Govt checks on state readiness

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration put the states on notice Thursday: Swine flu promises to create a mess this fall. Are you ready?

Swine flu may have faded from the headlines but it's still sickening people here and abroad and is certain to worsen when influenza-friendly fall temperatures arrive. The federal government called together health and education officials from every state to check their preparations for the likely prospect of vaccinations and determine how they'll handle flu-riddled schools.

"I want to be clear: This summit is not about raising alarms or stoking fears. It is about being prepared," Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said. "We must avoid complacency."

The government estimates that 1 million Americans so far have been infected with the never-before-seen virus known formally by its scientific family name, H1N1.

No longer do many public health experts warn of the new virus' "return" in the fall. Summer's heat and humidity usually chase away influenza, but the swine flu has never left. Children are spreading it in summer camps, and U.S. deaths have reached 170.

It has spread worldwide, and is causing larger problems in parts of the Southern Hemisphere, where it's currently flu season.

In the U.S., even if the virus doesn't mutate to become more dangerous, greater spread is considered inevitable as students return to crowded classrooms and temperatures drop—and regular winter flu makes its own return.

"This fall, it's daunting, all that will be required," said Paul Jarris, executive director of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials.

At the top of his worry list is finding enough workers for two vaccination campaigns.

The 100 million-plus doses of regular winter flu vaccine are set for the usual October inoculation start. But those shots won't protect against swine flu.

Within a few weeks, manufacturers will deliver test doses of a swine flu vaccine for a study to see if they're safe and seem to work. If so, the Obama administration will quickly decide whether to press forward with a second swine-flu vaccine campaign—and determine who would be first in line.

Looking back at school closings that disrupted the spring, communities also are struggling to determine when such a drastic step—one that has the chain reaction of parents missing work—is necessary.

A key theme to Thursday's summit: Consider now how your family would handle a disruption even bigger than what happened last spring when the outbreak began. To spur those discussions, HHS will host a contest—at Flu.gov—for the best anti-flu video to turn into a national public service announcement.

On another note good job avoiding the temptation of the bold text Vajra.

So people like you are panicking, taking drugs they might very well not need, and then panic some more when the virus shows signs of resistance. How predictable.

Spoiler alert: humans can survive the flu without advanced technological support. Bed rest, fluids, and patience almost always do the trick for normal healthy people. You have yet to provide anything concrete to suggest this is different than our typical flu strains. The infection rate is similar, and the mortality rate is similar.

Informational press release memos from the white house don't really change anything. They kept warning me that my television signal was gonna switch to digital too, and I didn't panic about that either.

Apparently Seraph is an idiot, and needs to educate himself more before he realizes that he cannot predict the future. Matter of fact, the data you see now has nothing to do with the fall, that was proven many times in "First Waves" of the past. People look for clues, but those clues can easily change with 1 major mutation. Until you realize, that complacent attitude leads to panic later on (when all the shelves are empty and you cant get supplies to prepare), then you aren't educated enough to even talk right now.

    On a lighter note:

Today, as the Administration holds a day-long summit on H1N1, we're excited to announce that HHS is launching a new PSA campaign contest to encourage more Americans to get involved in the nation's flu preparedness efforts by making a 15, 30 or 60 second video Public Service Announcement (PSA). The goal of the contest is to tap into the nation's creativity to help educate Americans about how to plan for and prevent the spread of the flu and the H1N1 virus.

The videos can be funny, cute, dramatic, but most of all, they should help make a positive impact. HHS is organizing an expert panel to evaluate submissions and will present the best PSAs to the public so everyone can vote on their favorite submission. The winning PSA will receive $2,500 in cash and will appear on national television. To learn more about the contest details, as well as our larger effort to plan and prepare for the flu season, please go to Flu.gov. To take a crack at the PSA contest, just post a response to Secretary Sebelius' video below, but skim over the rules first.

...and that is different than the flu in any other year how? People take precautions every year, this is no different. You are in love with H1N1, and want very badly for it to be super special, but it isn't.

Stop your attempts at inducing panic, and get over it.

(CNN) -- But another virus had killed thousands of people since January and is expected to keep killing hundreds of people every week for the rest of the year.

    Answer: Regular Flu.
Until Swine Flu starts to top the mortality rate of the one that comes around every 10 months, I'll go with the non-panicked approach.
