The drops were Rod, Mar's, and Minerva's. Based on the last set of AV kills, the 3 100% drops were AV were Rod, Mar's, and BELLONA'S. The fact Bellona's Ring is not listed tells me one of 4 things: there was either a mistranslation, the poster didn't write the correct drops, it was changed, or this is bullshit.

I'm skeptical, especially since this exact idea was done to death a year ago. Bullshit or ninja-patch change imo.

I wasn't sure about the translations of the sins (they seem to be somewhat different in english and japanese), but the poster also put the english names of the items they convert to in Katakana and those items are definitely what he wrote.

I'm thinking it's bullshit myself, too, but I wouldn't put it past SE to ninja this either.

This part doesn't make sense to me:

More simply, according to the story:
AV raped their tanks with DA criticals, then used Call Wyvern
There was chaos, so they didn't bother to use any 2hs
The second 2h AV used was Manafont
The list of 2hs after are the 2hs the players used against AV during it's Manafont
It never used Meteor during Manafont, and never used Manafont, Chainspell, Benediction or Call Wyvern again.

I did a quick translation, used to do JP -> EN for a living but it's been a while and I'm a bit rusty, but here it is and hope it helps.

Our dream of defeating AV has finally been realized, and here's a quick report.

We had 24 people present, and the setup was:

Main Alliance

Wyvern adds PT

As far as locking 2-hours, it appears that any job can 2-hour once the enemy does and it doesn't particularly matter which 2-hour is used.

One of our PLDs got two critical double attacks in a row, sending him down right off the bat followed quickly by a Call Wyvern. We all panicked a bit and missed the first 2-hour, but when AV popped Manafont, we used abilities in this order, according to the log:
Benediction
Call Wyvern
Perfect Dodge
Invincible
Invincible
Manafont
Chainspell
Benediction

After using those 2-hours, we never got hit with Meteor.
Also, afterward he never used Manafont, Call Wyvern, Benediction, nor Chainspell.

AV still used Invincible though, so we aren't sure whether or not we were truly successful in locking his 2-hours, or if it was just luck.

The BLM adds PT was standing by to kill his wyverns, but our physical damage was hitting for very little so we had the MNK PT drop alliance and added in the BLM PT.

AV never used Call Wyvern after the first one, and this was unexpected; we really lucked out in that regard.

For the melee PT, we had them use Opo Necklaces to get TP and run in for SATA WSes on a rotating basis.
The PLDs had magic defense builds and were all NIN sub.
BRDs and CORs rotated in and out, and their buffs were Ballads and Marches, and Magus and Evoker's, respectively.
Thanks to this, Aeroga only hit for about 800 damage and we didn't suffer any casualties from magic.

The biggest issue was his attack speed. He hits very fast, causing our PLDs to go down at times.
We accounted for this by having the RDMs sub NIN to act as backup tanks and ready to take hate when necessary, and we were able to bounce hate around enough to keep afloat.

For reference, the three drops were:
Sin of Insolence (Mars's Ring)
Sin of Intemperance (Minerva's Ring)
Sin of Invidiousness (Raphael's Rod)

Meh, I'm skeptical. Maybe it's exactly how they did it just luck plays a big part. I'm sure this has been tried quite a few times though with no success which is why no one bothered with it anymore.

I'd say be skeptical but don't be too close minded about it being true. The grand sum of well documented, precise, and well executed attempts at post patch 2 hour matching on AV was pitiful, so it wouldn't surprise me too much.

It's still hard to believe that no SS was leaked about someone saying something in LS or a picture or video of the end result of the fight, which is not that hard to do at all. I seriously doubt that at the end of the fight when he fell, their was so much spam that the drop on chatlog was gone instantly, let alone someone could take a pic of the pool itself, the only thing I could see them saying after they would take down AV is " Engrish w"

Can you really prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that a drop on a monster that has only been killed a relatively small number of times is 100%? Although it was probably a glitch the first kill had nothing drop. I'm not saying that this isn't a hoax and I'm pretty positive it is until we see some better evidence. For all we know SE may have screwed up the loot tables the last time they patched it because it's not like it's been beaten since then.

As likely as this a hoax I'd hold my judgment until the dust settles a bit.

One of the very few kills on midgard dropped rod/minerva's, it's highly possible that they changed the loot table to 100% rod/mars's/bellona's quite some time after those first early round of kills (wall of justice). These last round of zergfest kills seem to indicate that rod/mars's/bellona's are in fact 100% now, when did it change? I don't know.

They nerfed AV to where it was unzergable >> changed drop rates. (possible) You can't say it is not true based on the drops and be 100% correct unless you know whether they changed the drop rates again or not.
