You still haven't shown whose attitudes you're agreeing with, nor anything coherent. Considering, you should perhaps revisit that Creative Writing 101 class of yours, and learn how to express yourself properly.

I'm pretty happy with my writing endeavors. Along with the things I've been learning in my classes and workshops. I'm not about to rethink my trajectory because some guy on the internet said so.

also @ internetrageguy, i'm an engineer, i don't do fancy styles of writing, i know how to effectively explain and pontificate, not much else

I'm not trying to get on my fancy writing high-horse either. For as much as I can think up, and create (what I, and people who read them consider to be) good stories, I butcher grammar all the time, and constantly need to rewrite and edit stuff.

Any school that has a decent creative program should have grammar/structure classes too. Any class/workshop I've ever taken assumes you've got the basic knowledge of sentence structure, tense, verbs, nouns, all that stuff down pat. If anything the OP should look into that.

For what it's worth, I think his sentence (while flawed) is more intriguing.

I didn't see how far down you were in votes. I don't have enough proxies to vote you up that high, if someone can give me a proxy list to load or wants to do it themselves by all means but I don't have time to find enough proxies for you to secure a win.
