I'm not talking just about pooling together information, i'm also talking about learning about the cultures of other people. In my 5 years of playing this game I have got to know a lot about other cultures.

That's purely anecdotal evidence, which in any real survey/study is pretty worthless. You can prove that cultural exchange occurs, but it would take more than a list of names and locations to do so.

Yes I understand that, however this is just a senior project, not a graduate project. As such I am limited to doing what my professor has assigned to us. Our topic is soley the benefits to technology and social networking. If i was doing this for a publication piece like I have done in the past I would be going further beyond then just using these type of sites. However since she is only giving us 3 weeks to complete this whole research project I am using a form of convenient sampling. Again we are just looking at how technology does help with social networking.

We definitely will be talking about how words have become shorthanded like LOL, ROFL, AFK, BRB, however language barriers and development is yet another group on this project. My professor is one of the types that things that technology has no place in recreation besides being used as a teaching agent. That is why my class has decided to make this our final exam/project for this class. Also thanks to all the sites we are now up to almost 700 participants from multiple countries. I thank all of you that have helped so far and ask that you please have your friends and fellow LS members help out on here too.
