Anyone download the demo yet? Just curious as to your thoughts on it.

They're making another one? I haven't played that game since the original for the PS2. O.o
You're talking about RF2? That didn't even come out for the PC which pissed me off. The PC version was so much fun with the mods and shit but once the hacks came out for RF it started to sorta suck. I used some hack on it that nuked the entire area before and flew around and other people had it too which made it seem "balance" I lost my cd key for the game. Oh and I don't like the idea of this being in 3rd person but I'll give it a try this week.
no, RF3. demo's available for PS3 and Xbox. pretty fun game. can destroy just about everything in the game except the bare ground. which they had in 1, but took out in 2 for some reason.
Aww. Tunneling was one of my favorite things to do. XD
Tunneling with a railgun![]()
I think this game is seriously, a joke. Does not feel like it belongs in this gen at all. Twenty dollar game at best.
Red Faction one was awesome. You could make the best tunnels. They kinda killed tunneling a bit in RF2.
I don't have the necessary equipment to try the RF3 demo, but if it's in third-person...meh.
I will probably pick it up if it is low price for nostalgia's sake. Definitely not a sixty dollar game as far as I'm concerned. But still pretty fun. And tunneling was the shit in the first one. Can't get through a door? Blow up the wall!!
Me and my friends would go into multiplayer, then proceed to not kill each other and just make tunnels. I'll rent this game, and if the tunneling is as good/better than RF1, I'll probably buy it.
Though even without it, I thought destroying everything in the demo was pretty fun.
Did hate 3rd person view though
Yeah Red Faction is meant to be a FPS. Not a third person game.
It's fine in 3rd person, just because the original 2 were; they were trying to make the player realise the amount of damage and carnage you can do, and doing it in first person would not give it justice. The destruction engine is far superior to anything released so far, so I really do not know htf you can say it's not a "next-gen game", Ozz.
So am I the only one disappointed at what appears to be a complete lack of terrain deformation in the demo?
All I could wreck was buildings (which I had more fun doing in Crysis) and that's about it. The ugly terrain just sat still with burn marks where I set off explosives.
It was the terrain deformation that made Red Faction 1 what it was, not buildings that broke apart and not really have an effect on gameplay (aside from not having to take the front door)
Does it really feel like a PS3/360 game to you? Not me. I thought I was emulating PS2 with that shit. The graphics are old and boring. The destruction is alright, but really not that impressive. The AI is poor. When I was on the back of that vehicle, guys could barely catch up, couldn't hit me for shit and were driving into walls more often than after me. Maybe I've played too many really well done games lately to even consider this one in the same ballpark. Maybe in a pre-Killzone 2/CoD 4 world.
Oh it's definitely not in anywhere close to CoD/Killzone etc. The more and more I play the demo the more I'm getting disappointed with it.
Really disappointed by how your restricted to only being able to break walls and buildings now, things like tunneling were the major turn on to the Red Faction series. Pretty lame demo, probably not going to pick this up unless it's really cheap.
i was a huge RF1 fan due to the tunneling and just mass destruction that you don't see in other fps
i will be renting this for sure
I loved the multiplayer in RF1, don't think it'll be as great in 3rd person. rails only matches were so awesome.
I liked 1 also, and 2 was not bad... but this is just Random 3rd-person Action Game with a Sledgehammer 3.
