This Nvidia card is giving me headaches...

    Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 @2.5Ghz
    4.00GB DDR2
    Nvidia GeForce9800GT

POL is using 240,000K in task manager, why, i have no idea

    53 processes, cpu 24%

but the bitch thing is that I could dual box no problem with my E1705notebook like a champ, but this rig cant support it? Every time i try, i get flashes, armor not showing up, the freakin wg sky looks like an auroral borealis(sp?)

ran checkdisk, ran ffxi file check, ran dell diag on video card. ran memtest86 yesterday.

I usually give advice, but someone give me some. I'm really close to doing a complete backup > reload because POL used to take only 120,000K vs this shit sandwich its using up now.

I was single playing @ 1024x768 3d res but i put it back to the ffxi default thinking it was overloading my graphics card. same shit @ 512. doubleyouteeeff.

Same card here, and similar specs. I can dual-box and I don't often get graphical glitches, but slowdown is a big issue for me. I wish I could check my processes whilst running FFXI but when I open Task Manager it force closes the game. Fuck Vista?

ctrl-shift-escape instead of ctrl alt del should let it open without hitting u to the prompt that crashes ffxi.

Sounds like the drivers are tripping over themselves.. try the latest version (I hear some good things), or if you have already try downgrading until you get graphic stability.
