Spam is not and can not be a vessel to hold what is considered the unwanted shit of the forums. It's a community incubator, where people fuck off and, without threat of intervention, have fun. Threats will not work on spam because it is that lack of threats that is needed.

If you are dead set on hating the way spam works, there will continue to be problems.

In any case, what is considered to be "spam leaking" has been going around long before spam; a lot of the fun that has been had on BG has been because of "spamlike" posts.

As far as Taj & Lynsy are concerned I dont think they were able to access the DB.

As stated earlier today:

Numbers: When I logged onto #BG one day to complain about the unnecessity that is changing your passwords on a routine basis Lynsy/Taj thought it'd be fun to try to steal my passwords
Numbers: Changed the BG forums one as soon as they notified me they were going to do it
Numbers: They found the IRC one no problem, then were disappointed when they couldn't log into BG with it, but then showed me the server message of the password being changed recently
Numbers: so I dont think they had full DB access

IRC admin maybe.

the only people that would have FULL database access to a forum are those with mysql/ftp access to the file server

any admin has limited access to the database, more than enough to back it up and send said backed up file to anyone they want

you would have to modify the actual admin control panel to deny that access to certain levels of administration, which is kind of counterproductive in the first place

tl;dr admins of a vbulletin forum can send database backups to anyone they want, or load them for whatever purposes
