The spam leak was essentially people mass trolling a bunch of threads in advanced, like spam had a raid day and advanced was its target. I had complaints from lots of people and a majority of BG the linkshell about it, even some of the people in BG posting in this thread complained about it. So we cleaned it up and got a little harsher, something Ive had nothing but joyous notes about people being happy with the stricter rules and no tolerance policies.

The majority of BG the linkshell doesn't give a fuck. Don't act like they're mostly forum whores. Whenever I say "dude, check out this thread" everyone goes "fuck you, I dont read the forums".

Exception being sept, but he'll launch a tirade at the mere mention of spam.

Yes but prior to that the cesspool of Ahlah/Destinye/etc horseshit posts made Advanced nearly useless at what it was intended for, normal Advanced regulars turned those thread to absolute shit on their own power, it wasn't until some of them said 'dump Spam so BG can be a premiere site' that anyone in Spam really did that shit.

Granted several spam members are just total hangers-on that don't really do shit else on BG, but some of us regularly browse the other parts and actually make non-horseshit posts. I try to make it a point to not make any spam-ish posts in the other section, and I can only think of a few times where I did do it, and they were all bullshit threads to start. You can't just say that Spam was shitting up other areas, because several of us are the few people who actually make decent posts in those areas.

Left someone who had NO business being a mod with mod board access.
Let someone who rather blatantly broke the TOS keep his mod status.

I know this is the BG LS forum first and all, but I don't quite get why a few people that might get a little butthurt over what some people say in the advanced forum that THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE VISIT should warrant action over other people.

There's private forums on here for internal LS affairs, some trolls outside of there shouldn't really be of the utmost concern..

That's funny, because she used to say completely different things to me when she used to hang out in my IRC channel, and never said anything negative to me, just thanked me for filling her in on stuff. The tone of her last PM to me was very sweet too. Are you suggesting she'd deceive me?

To be fair I'm never sure if Nikkei actually truly regarded me as a friend, because she was kind to the people she told me she hated. (Kinder than I am, for sure)

I completely ignored the topics of dump spam to make it a premier site.
THERE IS NO INTEREST WHATSOEVER ON BG BECOMING A PREMIER SITE, PERIOD.
The problems in that thread were out of hand, and they were spreading very heavily, it had been moderated down heavily, I myself removed a few hundred posts with it.

people need to stop raging a little. On the one hand, it is a little unjustified to give Elphaba mod access. HOWEVER, all she basically could do was see the mod forums and report posts (which is what you all can do anyways). She couldn't delete/move/edit/ban/infract/etc. members/threads. What she did today went over the line, but she didn't do it through any "mod" access use. Even if she couldn't see the mod forums, she could have still emailed the guys prof and all this shit would have happened anyways.

It's going to be taken care of. Not going to lie, Elphaba was/is annoying and what she did was ridiculous, but her actions were not the fault of Sonomaa. Just be satisfied the right person is getting punished over this and move on.


As to the whole spam leak thing, not going to lie, it makes modding much easier to know that spam goes to spam forum onry. It definitely has helped keep things organized considering how much traffic goes on here.
