    This is a glitch, Blms used to do a similar thing before SE patched it and made it so that Diabolos had draw-in on everyone. This doesn't really illustrate a Pup's ability to solo but just shows that the exploit used in Golden Salvage works in other situations. Personally I don't really care if a pup can do this but I'd watch out because if this becomes common knowledge it'll probably be patched.

    well, it certainly doesn't require much skill, but as far as gear goes you do need scanner, mana booster, optic fiber, condenser, and tranquilizer to do this, to avoid aspir, cast fast enough to keep up with his regen, condenser to avoid overload, and tranquilizer so your automaton actually nukes, as his magic resist is so high your auto is likely to not cast at all with scanner without it. So yeah, you need about 1-1.5 mil in attachments to do this. ;x

    I did it myself last night to test, confirmed solo... if your on phoenix ill solo him for you for 50k~ =D

    Its good to see PUPs doing some cool things. Even if it is mainly caused by SE oversight. God knows the job needs some love in the form of positive PR. Also, I dont think the lolpup will ever really go away, but it would be nice for people to recognize the potential of pup in the hands of a knowledgeable master.

    Very impressive stuff. Is MonstersInc using PUP's now for nuking/etc? Or still using just SMN/BST(Not that smn/bst isn't bad, personally I love all pet gods/nms.) :D

    I don't know if this is a glitch because the same works for BST as well and has for 5 years. If you use Sic with a Hecteyes under 100% TP it will cast a spell instead of waiting for TP to use a TP move. After the nuke you can use Leave and the target mob will deaggro as long as your pet never lands an actual melee hit before/after the spell.

    One other thing; the Dia II being casted by the master, wouldn't that be getting hate on the master as well to cause the draw-in?

    Puppetmaster/Scholar does not have Dia II, so I would assume the puppet is casting it.

    This is the point of his different attachment setups, for forcing different spells. Just sucks that you can't macro these changes and have to dig into the menus and move shit around and waste valuable time just to force a first-cast Dia instead of a nuke. This appears to be the hardest part about the entire thing, to know your timing on when to stop nuking, switch to dia setup, and put dia back on before it starts regenning its HP back in huge chunks.

    I'm confused on the regen part of this.

    If you're using nuke deactivate, then Diabolos has like ~30 seconds to idle and regen right? That's like 10% every 10 seconds. I think I'm confused about the timing of when you deactivate. Are you letting Diabolos hit the puppet to delay the idle regen?

    As far as the skill of the solo, usually solos don't take all that much 'skill' but they do take some creative thought if you're first, which is more admirable imo. When I seek solos out to do, I'll try the ones others' have done (like the Vol BLM Diabolos, first guy to solo it), but I'll never brag about soloing something someone else has done period or on X job. The creativity is what impresses me about new solos, not 'skill'.

    That's why I get a little irked with people imply they are better than Avesta on RDM solos because they are 'doing it better' than him. Once someone does it first and showcases it, others will improve upon it. It's being first that's the absolute hardest thing to do because you have no one to copy off of, and you won't be perfect the first win usually. So bravo for this solo!

    Everything generally revolves around Smn and Bst still. We rarely have more than one or two pups in any main alliance.. and once the initial automaton nuke goes off it's dead within seconds due to finicky hate with avatar/pets. (hence why I die on Cor the second one quick draw goes off)

    He is only deactivating (I think so anyway) when the automaton completely runs out of MP. You can nuke from up top, and it will never draw in at all. So essentially it's just spamming Blizz4>Fire4>Aero4, and you are able to overcome the idle regen because you never have to rest for MP.

    There's a few other solos that are a little similar to this. CoP 8-3 (the pot bc), where you can just nuke>deactivate and you won't get hate for example.

    Really ? I'm interested in CoP's one, I might need myself a raja as i'm more on mnk than rdm lately..

    Based on this, the 'trick' or 'exploit' in this is that Drawn In occurs when a player has hate and is outside the specified area. When a puppet attacks, the PUP doesn't get hate. Normally a mob will attack after being attacked, but Diabolos waits to draw you in first before attacking... so the result is he just sits there.

    Pretty interesting, but I think normal situations would have the mob attack after being nuked so this form of trick is limited.

    Just curious but why is this so impressive? Seen like 5 people in this thread say how amazing/impressive it was but I just don't see how. I'm not tryin to be a dick or anything but if a mob is glitched and doesn't attack back, then what's impressive about it?

    I did this fight last night (my time) as well. It's not too tough but you definitely have to be maxed out in merits and gear to be able to do it.

    I did it with just straight nuking and Dia II. Scanner, Tranquilizer, Mana Booster, and Loudspeaker, Mana Tank I + II, Mana Conserver, Condenser, and Turbo Charger (for the hell of it even if it probably doesn't work for individual spell timers) were the attachments. I had my Mirke Wardecors on with MAB/Maccu +7 and +20 INT using /WHM.

    You basically load up your Spiritreaver outside of the BC and let it sit a little while to clear any overload. When ready, enter the BC and go to the platform and position yourself so you can see Diabolos over the edge. I forced a Dia II on my Spiritreaver then started nuking it down. After about 4-5 nukes, I forced Dia II again (usually closer to 50-60%) then proceeded to Nuke again. When your MP is out, refresh using DAD. It takes a little work as you get resisted almost all the time (only saw once unresisted Blizz IV and that was BEFORE my Tranq for some reason) and so timing it so his HP is in the right spot for the Dia II can be tricky.
