Spellcast also requires me to learn to work with XML, which is unappealing right now, and would cost me time I could be playing instead. I learned most of what I needed for FFXI's command line when the game was Japan-only. XML feels like a completely different beast, and is overwhelming for me to look at right now and learn the specific context for the plugin. I'm a console gamer, not a damn programmer.

All of my game macros are blank, because I only use keybinds and G15, with one txt file for each job. Fuck. Game. Macros. I'll never understand waiting for the UI to pop up just so you can //exec macro.txt, when binds are instant and work mid-sentence.

ctrl+1->0 for some nukes, alt+1->0 and ctrl+alt+1->0 for equip swaps and a few more nukes, M1-G keys for enfeebles and spells that need to fire as fast as possible, M2-G keys for targetting and elemental enfeebles, M3-G keys for rarely cast shit.

Yes, I know spellcast is "better". Good for it. I only use it for the default functions, because gear automation annoys me. I don't need a bot to equip my gear for me, and it does not improve macro speed unless you suck.

Macros are instant with a controller, in my experience. I'm also not big on spending more than $20 on a keyboard. Isn't that G15 keyboardlike $125+?

    ALT

    SS | Blink | Drain | Aspir | Sleep1 | Sleep2 | Sleepga1 | Sleepga2 | Skill gear | Stun

    CTRL

    Drown | Rasp | Frost | Burn | Choke | Shock | Heal

I have speed-important spells on G-keys in an attempt to make it a bit faster, so basically stun, sleeps, bind, gravity, drain and aspir are G-key'd, while stuff like regular nukes are control + alt'd
