One time when going over to a friends house (we were in a suburb) she was like "watch me drift this corner, I was a professional drifer." it was in the middle of winter and we live in michigan. a foot of snow on the ground and shes drifting corners and shit.

and no, it wasn't good drifting. We ended up doing a 180.

Had a friend who used to tell us he:

once had sars
fought gang green
got a skin graph for a tattoo (on his hand)
rode his bike from florida to new york (which is possible but not when you've never left the state the state being virginia)
beat up 12 guys at once

we all eventually just started to walk away from him whenever he approached us. now he lives at home with his mom and has no friends getting married to a girl who doesnt exist.

We had a guy in my continued college course, himself and his dad both applied there, he was removed for being a complete retard and the youngest neckbeard admitted to the program, he told us he killed a man in Quebec and never got caught, and a whole bunch of other things he'd brag about that just weren't bragging rights.

When you figure out how to handle it let me know. My sister is a compulsive liar, and I've often think it's something with her brain. Not to be mean about it, but I can't help but feel that she truly believes the lies she tells. Things she says:

She ones told a college friend of mine in a crowded cafeteria THAT SHE JUST MET THAT DAY that she was gang raped when she was 12.

She told me that when she moved to North Carolina she had a job interview, but that my parents drove down (from CT) the night before, and my dad beat her up. when she went to the interview she had two black eyes, and that's why she didn't get the job. (note my parents would never even remotely do something like this, and I was living at home at the time, so have no idea how my parents magically disappeared for a day to get to NC and back).

On a more serious line, when she was in NC she was poor as fuck. WE knew, she told my mom and everyone. And she ranked up about $3000 + in a credit card. She then told the credit card company that her card must have been stolen because she didn't charge that stuff. Credit card investigated, and saw there was no "out of the ordinary" charges, yet to this day she still refuses to pay, and her credit score has been shot because of it.

I called her out when she tried to give me the story about my parents beating her up. I was tired of her trying to make everyone look the bad guy so people will pity her. She flipped out by me saying it wasn't true and that I wouldn't see my niece and nephew again until they're 16 and decide to drive to visit me (she loves using her kids as weight). Took almost a year to see them again. But I'm tired of it. She time and again has created this huge rift between us, to the point I never want to bother anymore. It makes me more sad to see how upset my mom is over the relationship between my sister and I. but I can only go so far till I've had enough.

But ya, when you figure out the solution to all that let me know, because I don't know if anything can get through to a person like that.

Honestly, cut her loose. And tell her straight up why you're doing it. Don't leave anything unsaid because in her mind she will probably put some sort of spin on it so she keeps coming around. She lies about normal mundane shit. She's sooner or later going to lie about something really important that could fuck with people's lives etc. Tell her you can't be friends with her because you can't believe a single word that comes out of her mouth. And then when she laughs it off, bust out all your examples of when you caught her lying. Tell her when she decides to stop lying all the time then maybe you guys can talk again.

Seriously though, cut the lying bitch loose. It's not worth the exasperation to keep her around.

I did this to my grandmother once. I told her I saw on the news where the police raided a bunch of plantations in the south. I said that according to the news, they had been using slaves for their cotton industry for centuries and they were totally unaware of the civil war/slaverly abolished over a hundred years ago. She was like "Yeah, channel 8, right? I saw that too. Man those slaves seemed so confused when they finally freed them. All this time...they even said on the news that there are more slaves to be freed".

I had to hold my breath, bite my tongue, clench every single muscle in my midsection and cover my nose and mouth tightly just to keep from laughing harder than I ever laughed in my life.
