I wasn't suggesting you should have to zone although I know it was suggested so I'm not saying you're putting words in my mouth. Doubling back is a non-issue because you have 3 utsusemi shadows, 2 of which may be taken and you will normally outrange -gas.

The circular route is the more logical I agree, but I don't like the detectors; an extra factor which involves an extra attention cycle and is potentially an extra area for a problem to occur.

I know it is a tired point, but so is doubling back on yourself. Neither hampers your solo ability at each area.

If one had to RELY on zoning out, I would agree with you. As it is, I really don't think the difference is much beyond preference.

Just cast ShellIV before you kill the Detector; when it wears off, you'll know the repop is imminent.

Not commenting on where to fight it, but this is how I use to pop SC solo and hold on rng providing there wasn't any competition. Run to bottom of stairs and /ra or aggro the detector and run toward the zone making sure it doesn't de-aggro before summoning. If it's SC great, if it's a Caretaker then zone. You never have to wait for Detector respawns nor run to another entrance. And the summoning will usually occur right as you reach the top of the stairs giving you a mediocre area to turn around in safely and run back downstairs if you choose to fight there.

A real Red Mage soloer does whatever they have to, in order to win. A veteran would know that, and most certainly would not laugh at any solo method that in the end, produces results.

A player with any amount of class and style would not behave in such a way.

You may however, find more like minded people here:

A random -ga 3 hitting me won't stop me from soloing Steam Cleaner(Neither will 2, or 3, or even 4.. some people actually bother with shell and carry MDMG setups in their solo gear.). Some douchebag stealing it because I stayed downstairs and had to cast on a detector will. Fin.

Lawlz. Pretty sure you're late to the party Sobie, try reading the rest of my posts instead of quoting one from days ago, after the debate advanced past that point. Anyway, my point has been efficiency, which should be the goal of every soloer. If you don't care about efficiency and just want to grind out a kill however possible, fine, go for it, but don't expect me to mince my words of derision at such a hack approach to the game.

But hey, posting Alla links is something a classy and stylish person would do. That definitely didn't get stale years ago or anything. Thanks for showing me how one takes the high road on the internet.

I have nothing else to add, besides lol.
Oh I scoffed at it, that's for sure. I scoffed hard.

    Hmmm.

It's good your arguments have some logic in them, not much credibility here otherwise.

Raineer pretty much said what I was going to say. So get that crap out of Standard. Now.

(Speaking of late to the party...)
