    Recommend parts for new computer.

I'm looking at building a new computer for myself and was hoping to get some opinions from some other people.

Budget is $800-$850. Don't need a monitor or an OS and I'll be reusing my G15 keyboard but I do want a new mouse.

Going for a gaming system. I play MMORPG's the most and also would like to play FPS (Left 4 Dead mostly) and RTS (Supreme Commander, Dawn of War 2, Company of Heroes).

My plan is to use this for 1.5-2 years then rebuild/upgrade as possible.

After reading over some Tom's Hardware articles I picked out the following parts.

Any thoughts? What should I avoid and have I missed something obvious?

Looks pretty solid, but go with a Radeon 4870 instead of that 4770.

Keeping in mind that you're building with the plan to reuse these parts in a newer build down the road..

Cooler: Good choice. If you do plan to OC you'll probably want to get a tube of AS5 too.

Power Supply: Get the 550W version. 650W is real overkill unless you're running a bunch of drives or dual video cards.. Plus you save $15 before the rebate kicks in.

Video Card: Actually I'm gonna go with you on this one. The Radeon 4770 looks to be the little bad-ass brother of the 4870 in the early reviews - uses the same GDDR5 memory, a newer core revision that's faster and less power-hungry, and a 128-bit interface. It beat the 4830 in benchmarks and came in real close behind the 4850 and GTS250. And you just can't beat that price!

Memory: Prices are going to go WAY UP soon, so I'd recommend getting the best that your board can handle now while it's still inexpensive. Get some tuned DDR2-1066 instead for an extra $8. I was looking for DDR2-1333 but only saw DDR3 at that speed on Newegg and Crucial.com

CPU & Mobo: The mobo you picked is a pretty solid choice - I have the next model up from that, the EP45-UD3P, and I love the damn thing so I think you'll be very happy. For your CPU, get the E8400 and save twenty bucks - You could overclock that extra .16gHz on the stock cooler if you want.

Case: At that price you're not gonna find too much that's great, so the Rosewill one is fine. If you want better airflow inside your machine, the Cooler Master Elite series cases are only 10 bucks more.

CD/DVD Drive: The one you picked out is fine, but there's a bunch of other SATA drives from Sony, LG and Samsung that are 5-7 bucks cheaper and will probably be a lot more reliable.
