1) Does anyone enjoy Moblin Maze Mongers (MMM) up to this point? Or is it just another "useless addition" in game for you guys?

Also, how do you feel about the reduction in Marbles that was earned per maze in the last update?

It just works better with Corsair/Mage and Bard/Ninja. Bard's are naturally better at pulling since they can sing any time they want while Corsairs must be at camp when Phantom Roll is ready and must stay there until they finish Double Ups.

It works even better when COR subs DNC and can DD and heal.

I don't understand why people continue to frame merit COR as /NINRNGWAR vs. /WHM when /DNC replaces both.

And for Hyan's question, while most people in Japan have had some kind of English training, most will feel too shy and lack confidence to use it. Part of the problem is because English education in Japan is not great and doesn't focus enough on talking and expressing yourself. Many teachers only have a very basic knowledge of oral English themselves. Argettio explained well the reasons why especially 11 is not a good environment to talk English.
(By the way, not to nitpick but the #1 language in the world is probably Mandarin rather than English, if we go that way).

I have used Bard/Dancer in a merit party before, it worked extremely well until our Red Mage disconnected and I had to main heal. The party still worked fine even after that for about an hour, but not having Haste we decided to call it quits.

EDIT: Norcellicus's "Xenophobic" term is quite useful here, I had to look it up to see what it means. Back in university (last year) you rarely see any of the asians hang out with any whites. They all stay within their little group(s) and social clubs.

It's true for any minorities. Some mix with other, but most stick with their own social group.

I'm pretty white people would do the same in a different context, it's just a normal behavior.

What are your thoughts on the Dancer job? Do you feel it is too weak? Too strong? What uses have you found for it so far?

(Because as far as I've found, there aren't many outside of merits and solo/duo scenarios)

I think it has something to with the fact that a well geared cor with a multihit weapon can generate TP mutch faster than they can gain mp without additional support. It aslo allows them to beneit from 2 DD rolls instead of 1 DD+Evokers.

Acc trait, JAs that reduce evasion/defense (which benefits everyone, including you), and (or particular significance) no gear conflict.

Gear that allows you to do a good job as /WHM (e.g. +MP, Light Staff) sucks ass for DDing. /DNC works with the exact same gear that you DD in.

cor's that /whm in exp make me sad, its a worthless waste of your potential as a corsair, /dnc isnt much better, but if your going to be a healer please do /dnc...

a good cor/nin can pull faster and more reliably then a brd/nin, peacemaker is awesome and ive NEVER had a bird resist light shot, but evry bard i play with, even relic brd's eventually get a resist that they cant handle

cor/rng is pretty useless in merits imo, and cor/war is an AWESOME with good gear, and not just when parsing against ah dd's, a good cor/war can parse above most sam's at birds

that being said.... i have a few questions for the JP's

1. why do you seek exp during NA Prime time, with JP ONLY in your comment? i can understand when there are allot of other JP's seeking, but i see like 1 JP seeking at like 4pm pst and he wants JP ONRY!

2. (not really a question) Allot of NA's who do not speak any japanese view JP ONLY, as an Insult, mainly because many NA's will party with JP as willingly as NA, without any complaints

3. How has the japanese view of DD jobs changed over the years, in merits at least, Ex. Good DRG's have overtaken SAM's and WAR's in NA parties as the best DD's

My main questions are kind of like Araelus'. I find it interesting cultural and behavioral differences create an environment that JP players find EN players insulting, but EN players also find JP players insulting. From a third party perspective it makes both sides a little hypocritical. Anyway, that's the topic for my questions:

• I feel like Square Enix loves to brag about multicultural servers, but does nothing to ease cultural relations resulting in further self-segregation and disdain. What changes do JP players feel Square Enix needs to make to ease this situation? I'm sure changing /check and auto-translate rehaul will come up, because that's obvious, I'm more curious about outside of that.
• For JP players who have negative feelings about EN players:
  
  • What preconceptions did you have about EN, specifically the United States, before playing this game?
  • What role did that preconception play in your current conception?

Not on that topic:

I think some EN players felt taken advantage of on the Security Token (basically buying a Satchel) and probably the Expansionette a little too. I know quite a few people who refuse to buy it because they feel it's kind of like extortion. Did JP players have the same feelings?

(before I get jumped on, I'm just stating some people feel that way, not that it's really extortion etc, don't want an argument)

Do the JP actually buy all those FFXI doujins, both tame/hentai variety? There's at least over a hundred of them. They either have to be hobby works, or are doing well outside of the FF community to sell enough to warrant continuation.....
