Rng attack for normal damage but str for special damage. When fighting high def mobs go for STR. Less defense mobs go for rng atk for dmg then the high modifiers for WS's. The sam/nin body isn't great compared to the acp body with snap shot + w/e or Osode. I'm not jumping on the expensive item bandwagon regarding equip.

In my experiences, WS'ing in rng attk gear will > Str gear. Now it might just be purely placebo on my part, but it seems to be a pretty consistant outcome. Or maybe I'm just seeing things.

Speaking of food, has anyone here tested the stats on pot au feau yet? Supposedly it has a ton of RAtt and RAcc.

I looked it up, and it already looks inferior just because of the lack of STR on it, compared to coeurl, but i'll make some and try it out this week and let you know how it goes.

Huh? I thought the NQ gave 3STR and the HQ 4? Also, equal amounts of AGI.

Yea, it gives 4 str, but I think coeurl sub gives 5 or 6 str. Also, Agi modifier for sidewinder really isn't great, it accounts more for Slugshot though, so maybe this would be better for slugshot. I also compared the NQ food, so only 3 STR is what I was looking at.

The big teller will be the amount of ranged attack it gives. I am not sure it will be able to top the 20%+ that coeurl sub gives, but we'll see, i'll check it out this week. If it does give a significant rise in Ranged ATT, then yes, it would probably be the new food of choice.

    Coeurl Sub:
Attack +20% (Cap: 75@375 Base Attack) Ranged Attack +20% (Cap: 75@375 Base Ranged Attack)

MP +10 Strength +5 Agility +1 Intelligence -2 HP Regeneration While Healing +1 Resist Stun Resist Sleep

This doesn't make sense to me. If the mob's def is high, ratt should be even more important.

Pot au Feu is being tested by quite a few folks, but no one is posting concrete info that I've seen. Ranged attack is theorized to be between 15-25%, and we know there is *some* amount of r. acc bonus - looks to be a static increase, and not % based. Overall, its a great in between food if you want r. attack and str, while still retaining some acc bonus. I've been loving the stuff in Mire leveling late 60s and early 70s, and people seem to like it for birds @ 75 too.

It's also fairly affordable for 30 min food, currently at 10k/stack on Fenrir. The easiest comparison is that its similar in concept to Marinara Pizza (Attack +20%, Cap: 50 @ 250 Base Attack, Accuracy +10% (Cap: 40+) ) for melee.

    From this Alla thread:

Yeah, some people on Alla think it may give up to 100RAtt (better than subs) while at the same time giving a huge RAcc bonus (as well as some STR and AGI) for very cheap. While if this has less RAtt than subs it may not be necessary in merits, if you can eat this instead of Sushi to hit Slugwinders on HNM this could be very good.

Figured I'd post some numbers from tests I ran on Pot-au-feu/Coeurl Subs today. I was strictly testing damage numbers, used scorpion arrows, same gear for all normal ranged attacks and same gear for all Sidewinders, no Velocity Shot, stood 1.5' away from each Aht Urgan Attercop (easy prey high evasion and defense):

74 normal damage shots per test (ignored all crit hits)
    12 Sidewinders per test

    No Food
Normal ranged attacks - 154 (low) 175 (high) 164 avg
    Sidewinder - 1021 (low) 1132 (high) 1075 avg

    Pot-au-feu
Normal ranged attacks - 188 (low) 211 (high) 199 avg
    Sidewinder - 1252 (low) 1351 (high) 1288 avg

    Coeurl Subs
Normal ranged attacks - 198 (low) 221 (high) 208 avg
    Sidewinder - 1290 (low) 1411 (high) 1359 avg

If there is some ranged accuracy on top of that, looks like a viable food option. I'll let those of you with degrees in subjects I will never understand figure out if there is and how much.

Not a big enough sample size to really determine for sure... but still relatively obvious it gives a decent ratt boost...

let's find out about the racc

so, what...~15% attack boost by those numbers, and Coeurl is 20% we know.

I had a buddy of mine make a big batch of these last night, he's 109 cooking with support, so we got tier 3 hopefully (seemed like it at least) and from 24 synths, we netted 5 stacks of NQ and 10 +1's (just under 1 stack of +1's).

I will be doing a few tests tonight hopefully to see what the difference is. The big factor is going to be the accuracy I think, because if we can get 15-20% attack, WITH the accuracy bonus, I can see the demand for giant femurs going WAY up.

What mobs you testing on Rilu? Are there high enough level worms to stay in the sweet spot the entire time with RDM to Silence them? Also, I think it would be best if you capped fSTR2, so you can measure the pDIF change directly.

Aydeewa Subterrane worms sound like a good test subject. I remember finding a few spawns in some tunnel without other aggro around.

I parsed 81 shots with coeurl sub and about 350 with pot @ 62 on colibri and went from 68~85% r.acc. Disparity in sample size yeah, and not exactly scientific (swapped rajas in for scorp ring when I started using pot), and some variation in distance, tho generally max melee distance, but it's safe to say at least it gives a significant r.acc boost.
