Under Observation as 37 NIN

Me and a couple of friends want to do Under Observation. I've only got 37 NIN (the other two players will be BLU/NIN and RDM 40). Has anyone does this before as 37 NIN instead of 40?

Some people might talk about the loss of the elemental wheel, but actually, back in the day on my old character, we would never use that anyway (too cheap!). We would just keep hitting>turning>hitting>turning etc. and we never had any problems.

So, should this be doable?

It's very risky and i wouldn't recommend it, even if you hit>turn>hit>turn if it starts the hex eye while you're facing then try and turn real fast it will most likely catch you. If you do go 37 NIN sub whm for paralyna just incase you get lucky and can cast it.

its just like around 15,000 exp? that's 2 hours in an average party that I build around them levels, I suggest you just take the time to get the levels and then go buy the spells, because the amount of gil your gonna make by just doing yourself that favor of getting them 3 levels then spending 100 - 150k depending on your server prices on the 3 annoying Ni spells, you really are pretty much set.

The wheel is going to help tremendously.

If you have a pro kiter, you don't "need" this as you can maybe just hold your mob while the BLU finishes his mob. Imo your damage will be gimped too much, but it would be doable.

I wrote a guide not too long ago on duoing this, you can read it here. I think you can replace the job of BLU with a ninja, if you are willing to spam utsu tools. If you can bring a 3rd member (another ninja or DD) you can win for sure.

This really, its so easy with the wheel its not really worth risking losing seals imo :/

It's not hard to time melee to not get paralyzed, I always meleed when I did this as well as using the wheel. It's very doable and if you don't wanna drop 150k on ni nukes and your friends are okay with an extra 90 secs a fight, go for it.

Not worth risking seals for 3 lvls of exp. It's time spent either way whether you exp the 3 lvls or farm up seals. One might take less than the other depending on your drop rate or exp/hour, but on one side you are just risking losing the time you spent farming while on the other side you are assuring the time you spent wasn't wasted.

Personally, I just go BLU because it's less gil spent. You might just need a Yag drink for mp.

Personally I'd just do Royal Jelly because UO is stingy. But nonetheless 40 NIN is your best bet.

There's no risk unless the people you're doing it with are morons. Doing another 3 levels just to use seals slightly faster is retarded, though I'd personally recommend KC BCNM or Jungle Boogeymen anyway.

Just a follow up, we did several successful runs tonight with NIN/DNC 37, BLU/NIN, and RDM/WHM. NIN37 wasn't very useful, I only got my eye down to about 70% before the BLU killed his and came to help me; but we still finished around the 11 min. mark each time.

RDM can kite both, Aro's guide is focused on BST kiting. (Hi Aro). Keep big one grav'd and little one bound, keep stoneskin on or try to. Not really too hard to kite both, just need to not be a moron.
